Excellent song choice, hopefully somebody at ford marketing catches on to these ideas.

Therefore, the Falcon is more Australian??? I know that is manipulative but so is Holdens marketing...........

Maybe an ad like the Holden ute version, where the different models morph into the next gen so that at the end of the ad you see a G6ET driving off in the sunset with something patriotic playing in the background, like Khe Sanh etc, something ironically Australian, and then the voice over, preferably Bud Tingwell, saying "Ford Falcon, proudly Australian for 50 years, it just keeps getting better........at that point the ford logo comes up on the screen as the last part of khe sanh finishes up with the harmonica trailing off................
ohh yeah nothing beats barnesy and a falcon lol

Funnily enough I have been thinking about a Falcon ute ad using "Working Class Man" Australians are very patriotic these days. They seem to dig aussie pub rock in their car ads.

Agree, but i hope the design team do a better job of defining it from the sedan than Holdens last effort with the Monaro.

I always have trouble telling the difference between the late model Monaros and the Commodores unless its from the side...... :

I hope they do something like the Ford Australia 75th anniversary and
let us know soon so those of us outside of Victoria can make plans to
be there!

Maybe they can do something early in the year between Geelong AFD &
FPV Open Day? Or Easter?

Does anyone from Ford or FDC use these forums & can tell us whats happening?
Its a bit early to be making announcements isn't it, its still more than 18 months away.

Ford will be as lame as always and put a different set of alloys and badges on it and ask additional $10k.

Do you mean its to early because its Ford & they cannot get their sh..
together? They need to let people know sooner rather than later so they
can plan & save$$$ to go.

Bud Tingwell will do for the falcon what Barry Humphries did for the avalon, I think Eric Bana would be much more suitable

Theory is there enough falcons to cover 3.2 kms of bathurst racetrack think of the helicopter shots of all that metal rolling around and around bathurst :sm_drool:

Don't you think they will plan it first, organise everything and then tell people about it closer to the date?

You f&^K!n nailed that one.

The bloke that does the lamb chops ads (Stan??) should do a talk-over, tongue in cheek, running history of his life based around all the falcons his family have owned.

Because naturally, I assume as a red blooded Aussie who takes no crap, thats all he and his family has ever driven for the last fifty years! am I wrong boys?

Needs an aussie band, Gangajang, Jimmy, or even Paul Kelly......

Ahhh Paul Kelly

"Leaving south Fremantle... in a Falcon Panel... Vaaann"

"we we smoking Marlbro... Always singing Boba..... rann"

Admittally that song is a bit obscure, but one of my favorites and even a Falcon Panel Van gets a mention.

Somebody stop me rambling......

We have contacted the Ford Discovery Centre & they said something will be happening. They need to get things organised so us Blue Bloods can plan to be there. It's not so bad if you have to travel a short distance but interstate the sooner they can give us a date & where the venue/s will be the better.

I'd love to see Ford Aus do an ad with the passion that Shell/Ferrari did with their ad recently. It only cost $2 million to produce apparently. :P

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RS-oZwYAG6Q

No reason why they couldn't do something as evokative filming on the great ocean road or great alpine road, with the most famous Falcon touring cars or the past... Then ending it with a G6ET or FPV of some description.

But alas, a small plastic "50th" badge on the front quarter panel and a new alloy wheel design if we are lucky is the most we can look forward to. :(

Prove me wrong Ford!!

when i saw the commercial for the 30th anerversary of the commodore and the fuss holden made about it, it dissapointed me because the falcon is so much older but people my age are unaware of this. they still believe that holden and the commodore are more aussie than ford and the falcon. but in reality the falcon should be australia's iconic car.

holdens marketing is always over the top and fords lack of marketing is hindering its name. Do you think people not into any particular brand of car would even know about the 40th edition gt? No, its just another black and gold falcon to them...ask anyone who's not a true ford or holden fan, what do they like better and they will 90% of the time say holden because the marketing is drummed into their heads.

wake up ford australia and stamp your place into the minds of the australian public!

Your small mistake was it isn't a 50th Anniversary GT but a 40th Anniversary GT (BF, black/gold, R-Spec suspension) to celebrate the GT name.

Every post afterwards thought you were talking about the 5th Anniversary GT (FG GT-P) which refers to 5 years of FPV. :voldar02:

Would it be a good idea to ask Ford to sponsor our XM falcon as part of their 50th Anniversary Celibrations ?

For those that don't know I am in the process of building a XM for the 2010 Camp Quality Charity motoring event, esCarpade. You can check out our progress on the links in my sig line below.

we can't expect them to let us know when and what is happening if they don't know themselves...

the best out of staters can do.. is save the coin.. and when the announcement is made.. make the arrangements to attend..
