Yep it seems Macron will do it if everyone that loses (failed 1st round candidates & support base) get behind him for the second round. Time will tell, hope it all works out well for the French.

cheers, Maka

Not if the slinging continues. Interesting comments on this article.

I personally think La Pen will snatch it

Even if she does, this election already shows that the people of the EU are fed up and the momentum to right wing politics is increasing.

And so are the people of Australia, as borne out by the increasing vote for parties other than Liberal/Labor. Rules of this forum prevent me from further precise comment.

So Le Pen has made a cunning move and denounced her leadership of the FN Party effectively making her Independent and looks like she will try and garner the cumulative vote of all other parties joining forces against EMA.

Should be interesting.

people dont want la pen or her racist right whinge views what they want is something different from the established partys hence why macron a guy who set up is party a year ago is able to get more votes then that right wing moron after years of trying you shouldn't confuse disenfranchisement with politics as a turn to the right its just a turn to whoever craps on the loudest against the established order.

Obama urged the people of Great Britain to stay in the EU - and he was ignored

Obama endorsed Hillary Clinton as his replacement - and she lost.

Obama now openly supports Macron in this weekend's election - will it be a hat trick of backing the wrong horse?

The French showing to the world that there is no such thing as free and fair elections. The preferred candidate will be promoted and protected at all costs, where undesirables will be attacked mercilessly.

No, no. The resurgence of the right, Brexit and Trump are because people just love the left's open border policies so much...

Attack words like racist don't work anymore by the way.

Something different?

Macron used to be an investment banker from Rothschild, sounds like the norm to me

Sure they do because the truth hurts but the right regardless of how much they hate the lefts policys are a minority they always will be they can realign there views with the centre during times of turmoil like muslim terrorists and thats great but as soon as things become good again people naturally vote in more normalized governments. Believe it or not most lefty governments or whatever youd like to call them arnt actually left there more centre the greens would be left and there ****ing nut jobs hence why there a minority. But in the end labels and slogans are just to divide the poor so the rich can keep on riching on with limited resistance.

So the "Russian hackers" card will be used as the default excuse for every election result that does not go the way of the looney left?

Ah you rightys crack me up look at ur anger and vitriol and I'm not even a lefty haha anyway as I predicted a crushing defeat for la pen and her cronies I look forward to hearing how this was some how a win for the right not a total defeat and why it's someone else's fault. As I said the right is a minority you all need to get use to that.

Macron has a job to do now En March won the French election, the question is will the young ex banker become the leader for all or for just some?

Will be interesting to see how the next coming weeks & months onfold in France. More instability or a coming together of the French people, hope its the latter lol!

cheers, Maka

So much for the rising up of the ultra right in Europe.

Thankfully they are a little more sensible over there.

There's never been a leader for all it will only ever be for some that's
Democracy for u. I believe he will be ineffectual as a leader as he has no party to back him. Same like trump get the job and end up doing what the party and congress want anyway becoz he has no real authority.

You think voting for a socialist ex banker who wants open borders is sensible, I think its lunacy. I guess the frequent mass murders of your own citizens by insurgents is just a 'nuisance' as waleed aly would say.

Define what you think 'ultra right' means. What has LePen said that you think is so 'ultra right'? The right wing label is bandied about as much as racist, bogan, redneck, islamaphobe, homophobe, etc, etc when the name caller can not argue on facts alone. Politics has shifted so far to the left in recent years that normal, centrist positions are labelled as right wing now.

I just spent 5 interesting minutes reading up on the subject & French politics is certainly colourful, passionate & sometimes volitile, oui oui lol!

The French parliamentary system is a bit different to other democracies, as in the president can depending on the politcal balance in the house/s - be a ceremonial head of state, act as sort of a referee with a hostile parliment against him or with a majority, govern through his PM & the majority (en marche & partners in coalition).

I think its all dependent on the house majority, so we wait for the final makeup of the seats in the house/s. Interesting times ahead for France, i hope all or mostly (being realistic) good!

Edit- I'm no expert, so mistakes may be present in this post lol!

cheers, Maka

It's typical for the tolerant left leaning Liberals to cast upon others everything they are guilty of themselves.......they're virtue signalling masters.
