Been very quiet as far as TE is concerned in last few months. Now that I'm single again (bye bye Chernobyl), the car gets back into focus :

She's had a full front-end respray along with a new bonnet, headlight and grille, after a minor accident.

Next week I'm getting the windows tinted and full detailing just before Easternats.

Than, after lotsa thinking about the dish, I've decided to keep Azzurro's for the time been (not sure how long is that gonna last though hehe), but with a twist.

I'm going to paint the wheels gun-metal gray (same color as my bumper inserts) and put a red lip. This is how its gonna look like

There is a trend going around with dark grey/black wheels with a red lip. Thats where I got the idea. Once painted, they'd be easier to clean and I would retain that T-series look as well.

I also managed to find a US wheel seller that has 18x9 Azzurro's with a PCD and offset that would fit my car. Most likely I'll be getting these wheels, as I would retain the stock look, except I'll be running 9inch wide rears with 275 tyres.

Can't wait to see it at Easternats, i dont think i've seen it in the flesh yet. Looks very tough with darker agent wheels, once its lower will look heaps better.

Looking Good - love the headlight covers with the red highlights

Nice Touch with the Floor Mats.................

What about Red Walls - they seem to be the trend at the moment as well?

Very Nice. I'm a fan of the 'Dark' look on the wheels as you may remember from the Sandown 500. I think it really suits the car and it still retains its originality.

Thanx James, as far as lowering, its got SL's all round, and the back sits a bit higher than the front. I'll putt SSL's at the back, to level it. I won't go any lower that that, as a daily its just not practical.

Cheers mate, with all my previous cars I used to muck around with cosmetics, but with this one I'll take a different approach. Down the track, a full exhaust is on the cards *** well as CAI and flash tune.

Thanx Rosco, the headlights are actually painted red from factory. It was a T-series thing, and that's why they cost $750 to replace these days...

I still have the original mats, which I'm using daily. The orsm ones are just for shows.

I thought about red walls, but on a daily car it'll hard to preserve the color and would look crap when it starts to come off.

Cheers Jack, yeah I agree, still looks original, but with a bit of a twist. And red and black/grey theme works well with the rest of the car.

Well guys, I'm single again and that means I can concentrate more on my true love, the T!

In next few weeks there will be some visual additions, new wheels (dish of course!), bobtail etc.

Stay tuned.

These are the wheels I'm going to order next week

BB5 LM's, BBS LM replicas. They've been around US & Europe since '08/'09, heaps of people bought them, until BBS America made a law suit against them for copyrights and won. Not here in Oz though, they're still advertised as BB5.

Now, being replicas, they're obviously much more afordable, reasonably weight as well as being one piece vs genuine modular LM's. Design wise, they're very close to originals:

They can be ordered in custom PCD, as well as any offset between +20 and +45, choice of 18x8, 18x9, 19x8.5 & 19x9.5''. Because of the design of the wheel, 18's would look too small, so I'm getting staggered 19's with rear wheels in +20 offset to fill those monster rear wheel arches.

I'm getting them from this place:http://www.allwheels.com.au/product....&cat=84&page=1
Cost around $1280 for a set of staggered 19's. Off course, they're not the real thing, but at around $2K per rim, I dont think I could afford to spend $8K on a set of genuine ones.

Bud, if you sell the Azzurros could you let me know? Depending on price and tyre condition I am fairly keen to get some soonish. I have these or another 18" wheel in mind.

Don't you HATE cleaning wheels?

If you think your Azzurros are hard to clean - just wait till the new ones get dirty - those lil chrome nuts will drive your crazy - you can bulk buy cotton buds lol

I would be taking this into account when looking at new wheels

Great choice luv mesh and staggered way to go, look forward seeing them on.
Sorted - not that hard to clean, acid free wheel cleaner gets into all those tuff areas then with a soft brush easy - done it heaps of times on the many wheels I have had with the similar.

I'm single now Rosco, so I have more time to clean them lol.

Joke aside, I know mesh style wheels are extra work, but I cant help myself, its my taste.

I had a black BA a few years back, with mesh wheels, used it daily and used to wash it twice a week. And yes, I was single at the time too lol. More time to spend on the car.

Cheers Maurie, I reckon +20 offset on the back will be perfect. I did some trial fitting with my mates 0 offset 17x9 rims, and with rolled guards it will work.

I agree, those other chromies above are flith..
The wheel design and rear offset are two main things that draw me torwards them. Rear AU guards are massive, even of the shelf 9.5'' with your usual 35-40 offset look average to me.

Appart from that, 9.5'' with 275's will improve rear traction a bit too.
