To a couple of posters sign up for LS1 NOW. I can't believe you find the time to get on Ford Forums, as some of you struggle to get your hand off it when talking about the gts. You can have your views and opinion but some of you converts are now just trolling and looking for a bite.
Again not denying a great package but an F6 modified will give it a run with 2 less cylinders 2.2L less capacity. The Aussie 6 that keeps giving.

I guess it is subjective mate because I had another listen in case my ears were playing tricks on me and even with the volume turned up on my 200W THX speakers at 1080p, the GTS sounds average at best to me.

Have a listen to a stock 335 (R-spec) here and tell me what you think... and when I say "the BOSS sounds better", I mean in terms of sound quality, not necessarily sound volume.

Pointless me listening to sound files, I'm using an ipad lol.

I'm purely going off what I've heard in real life.
Maybe I'm biased, I'm always liked the note of a ls, and the lsa just takes it up a notch or three for me.

Have a search on Youtube for FPV HSV Exhaust, I got a clip of both my car and a mates GTS. The LSA is rumbley at idle and sounds best inside the car at idle. It is a really muffled sound out on the road and really quiet for a V8, sames goes for the stock SS. Theres a bit of intake roar when your getting into it but certainly does not sound like a big supercharged 8.
The GT is the pick, much louder out on the road.

Maybe all the gts's I've heard have had modified exhausts, but they all sounded great, exactly what I thought a big supercharged V8 should sound like. Certainly were not quiet.

Nah! Just having a lend of you.
But in all seriousness the is some very good Performance Packages out there for the GT and the F6 that would give the GTS a real run for the money.

But the GT doesn't have torque vectoring or park assist that doesn't work.

Rodge is right, test drives are the best way to determine how good/bad a car really is.

The rest of us are just arguing over numbers on a piece of paper !

I have driven a GTS a couple of times as a mate owns one as Rodge mentioned. I own a RSpec so I am maybe the most qualified person to comment in this thread. Its a given I am going to be biased to the car towards the car I laided down my hard earned on. The thread I did up with my intial though r s can be found in the FPV 5.0 sub forum.
Anyone thinking the GTS is overated and a waste of money is an idiot. However the GT is still a great car and on the street make no mistake, its a lot closer to the GTS than most people would have you believe. The big thing though for the next few months is the question of value. The extra kit the GTS has is worth its pricing considering where FPV RRP is, but at $60k-ish is a great buy. Whilst everyone compares the brands, the GTS has no competitior from FPV. The kit the GTS has works well and on the track is going to make it a weapon no question but its just ego and **** pulling if owners are not racing.

Good overview

Would think that the absolute majority here would say that they are not over rated though? There are a few of course but thats the way it is I suppose. Take price away or if they were equal in buying, then would be hard pushed to see another FG GT sold and the discussion would be very very different.

Yes. Hard pushed to see a direct car to compare between the 2 brands. Of course HSV and FPV have belted it out formany years but HSV have continued the fight while FPV or Ford have said "That's all Folks."
