Ford will try a special pack as jpd80 pointed out probably similar to the 40th anniversary or 5th anniversary packs, they had a lot going for them, and at a premium price, just cant wait for the final anniversary FPV sticker pack to arrive in 2014.............or perhaps they could call it the devorce and separation option

Yes lets keep wishing that to happen. A bitter Ford fan can only be cheered up by more Australians losing work.

Alternatively VF might do well enough for Holden to put up the argument to keep some model or another running down the line post 2016. Wouldn't that just be just so terrible for Australia.

Your definition of regular appearances, much less very regular appearances is different to mine.

She has popped up a couple of times to do some damage control. Thats about it.

I think it would be fitting if the last GT has a twin stripe option in the sales brochure, but when actually delivered has only one stripe fitted, due to cost cutting.

Not self evident when sales of Falcon and territory actually went up last month in spite of the torrent of bad news...
There's a wider audience in Australia than forum members.

Of course there is but a Forum such as AFF does attract quite a few of the more passionate ones and those with more of an interest than just a daily A to B type thing? Play the reaction or the proactive game ..... its up to them. Most have accepted what has happened but just a little bit of noise one way or another would not be a bad thing at this point in time? Or is it that silence is golden?

Maybe there was another few hundred more in sales that went begging? WHo knows. That is all.

GS wearing an XR8 badge going head to head with SS, SSV and Redline sounds good.
Now if only Ford could get the options packages sorted out..

Yes because the starter button is $5k, the stripes are $5k, the GT badge is $5k and the big wing is $5k......that is why a GT is $70k instead of $50k........

And theres the cluster instruments, wheels, seats suspension, front bar, side skirts.

Even for the final model there needs to be GS or XR8 same differece, to compete with the SS, there needs to be a GT to compete with the GTS.

Would be more like the GS wearing the XR8 badge.....60K+
And then people will complain that there are no Brembos as standard , spartan interior , crap stereo , no sunroof , no staggered wheels ,looks too much like an XR6 blah blah blah.
That record has been played so many times on here I'm surprised its not in the top 10 on the local radio stations yet.

They are all the GS complaints, because people expected more of a FPV than a Taxi with a Mindblowing engine.

People don't expect FPV levels of kit in an XR8, they expect XR levels, which funnily enough is nicer than that of the GS.

The GS, should never have been part of the FPV brand, should have been a Falcon GS or XR8 (IMO XR8 there was never a ground swell of support to bring back the GS nameplate).

I thought In the early days - GT was falcon / falcon 500 based
GS was more luxury ( fairmont / G6 ). and then there was also the GXL which was basically fairmont Ghia ( G6E ) spec. ( different models of course XY - XC ) - the GS was better speced that GT in many cases ?

Nah, the GT was Fairmont spec.
The GS pack you could add to any Falcon, Falcon 500, Fairmont or ute.

Embossed seats with nicer detail and stitching.

Unique wheels to the model not hand me downs from a GT 6 years ago.

Outside of that they are equal.

Right you are. GS I guess was an optional "pack" that could be ordered on any model. I've sat in many an XY and XB Fairmont GS and was always impressed with how well kitted out they were back then. Guess it was the fact that it was a Fairmont that i had the pleasure of seeing to begin with. I guess the GT's didnt have the BREMBO brakes and auto climate control and Hi Series HMI's to differentiate them feven further from the GS back then.
