I really don't know, I have a mate scouting locations for us this afternoon but worse case I think we could do it from a private driveway. It is not a commercial venture, just a fry up by a few blokes with nothing better to do.

I think we wing it, especially if you can organise the trailer??

So far, we have:

DASH GT organising drinks, hand wash, bbq trailer (not confirmed);
Scott organising a couple of hundred snags, onions, bread, sauce, serviettes, shelter & some ice;
Dazzler bringing some more ice & drinks;
Aspro (mate of mine) finding us some locations and will help man the tongs;

Still need:
Gas (maybe with the trailer??),
Cooking gear (though I'm sure we can each bring a bit)
Someone to go door-to-door to tell locals there's a bbq on down the street - VOLUNTEERS???

Good on ya lads well done to all involved. Sitting back here in NZ watching what is back home is
devastating. We are trying to get back for a few weeks to volunteer to clean up once we have sorted
accommodation and loan car to get around.

I was asked today to head up to work on the underground electricity network.
Just waiting on the call to come in of the time we are leaving and how long they think we will be there for.

I could donate some time (depending on getting called in for some shifts). I can donate my time, some utensils for cutting onions etc, chuck in some snags and a generator for lights (if someone can supply the lights).

DashGT, I am sending a pm with my mobile number, give me a call.

That's be great mate

Just saw on the news that people are saying they are bloody hungry!!!

I think I've arranged alternate travel for my wife to the airport so if the guys who are helping out can make it, my place at 10am would be a good start, setup at site (yet to be found lol) by 11-11:30 and ready to cook by 12pm?

Thoughts?

No problems, PM me the location of where we will be meeting. Should provide some encouragement to those who are in need of it!

I have PM'd Dazzler, and although I have to work tomorow, if you are keen to do it again on Sunday, I can supply cooking utensils and sausages up to about 20kg.
I will need to know tonight though.

Default Meeting Location

Well I'm in Kedron which is pretty handy to the city, how about we arrange to meet at Padua College, Kedron at 10am, for 10:30am departure.

If anyone has a better idea, let us know.

We need to consider minimising cars - I will have the Ute which will be pretty loaded, Dash might have a trailer in tow but taking half a dozen cars in to the affected areas is probably going to be more hinderence than help.

Anyone happy to bring a sedan or people mover along?

Mont, I'm happy to do it all weekend. If we can get a few names for Sunday we can do that too.

Who is coming from the southside? It may be worthwhile for us to bring as little in the way of cars from this side of town as possible.

I am Southside, I have a sedan if I can offload some gear into the trailer/ute I can take some people.

Are we likely to be out into the darker hours? Just trying to work out if the generator will be required.

To be absolutely honest, when the idea popped into my head I posted it so haven't got a refined plan at all.

Dash GT has jumped on board as well as offers of help from Peuty, Dazzler & FTE72.

At this stage all I can imagine is finding a park/driveway/street/carpark, turning on the BBQ and seeing who turns up...
yeh i know what you meant, this is fantastic for you blockes to do this Have fun with a bit of music for them too as there chowing down on your grub

Mate, a Sunday shift looks like it's getting some traction. Keep it free and we'll start a Sunday list later (me, you and The Monty can get on it so far).

DASH GT has secured a Trailer BBQ from Bryan Byrt Ford which is great news
