Guys,
Has anyone changed the timing cover on the AU XR8, whilst in the car and does the timing cover gasket kit cover all the gaskets required. Also do I need to drop the sump. One other question, is there another gasket between the sump and timing cover, does this come with the kit? Cheers |

The Permaseal TCS47 will have everything you need, however it is worth noting that the sump gasket itself is the seal between the cover and the sump, and isn't a separate item. You can get away with using some RTV or gasket maker in that area though.
If you have the means to drop the sump, I'd definitely suggest you do so and replace that gasket too..

Thanks Peuty, can you get a gasket for the cover and sump or the sump gasket is it, followed by some RTV.

I don’t believe so, no.
Definitely worth making sure your sump isn’t weeping, as they tend to do that. Also, be prepared for broken timing cover bolts if it hasn’t been off before, and have some stainless new ready to replace them with.
