Default 12v household led strip lights

Iam after some coloured led strip lighting that can lay flat on a board and yet take some decent bends. Making a 800mm dia Star Wars death star for my grandkids as per this guys design https://youtu.be/w5kuvgfO6-E?t=4

I tried dome from Bunnings and while good it could not get it to bend flat. any info please

Have used this type of strip lights before for backlighting a vending machine plexi glass, worked quite well

If you stop the vid at the point where he fixes the light strip, its not flat its bunched up where he bends it to suit, the led strip I purchased you could cut it and join it by soldering the contacts that were every 5 or 6 LED's on the strip, so you could run a section then join it with some wires to the next section, which is what I did in the Vendo.
