Hello!
I’m just needing some advice on a 2004 Ford Focus, 5 speed manual I am looking at buying. I test drive it today and when I put it in reverse it beeps. The owner says it has always done this and has no idea why. Does anyone know what this could be? It doesn’t have reverse sensors that are visible or that I am aware of. |

It's a reverse warning horn - don't think they were standard for that model so it would be after-market.

It may be the same problem I had.
Is it the "same" as the seatbelt warning? It is a factory feature that is meant to be turned off before they are sold. OH&S stuff when they're being driven off the factory floor. Get it fixed at a dealership, refuse to pay. It is a 100% Ford f^%$ up. The chances of an owner DIYing the problem into existence is pretty damn low. |

It's 2004 Focus so I assume it's a MkI (commonly known as a LR). Is it a Ghia Specification? Mine is a LX "mid spec" model. CL's were bare-bones and the ZETEC had most of the good options and the Ghia was loaded with them all and possibly reversing sensors.
