You have to push the tools in to the holes, and once you hear/feel the click, you need to put outwards pressure on the tools - the right to the right, and the left to the left.

any ford dealer will charge approx. $250 to give you a replacement unit. If there are cd's stuck in there they will send it away to get removed and they will be posted back

Well here's a story...
The day after i bought mine, i went on a road trip and decided to load up the stacker, only to find that the previous owner had jammed one in there i didnt know so proceeded to load 6 more in there, well the whole thing siezed up so i proceeded to investigate, ripped it outta the dash and dissected it to find that the trays that hold the cds, 2 had broken and the mechanisms where all choked up. Anyways pulled all the cds out and several hours and lots of supergluing id fixed it all up, put it back in to find i didnt have the code, well coffey ford charged me $15 for a business card with it written on the back the lousy bastards! anyways the next day it did it all again, but this time i was more careful... all in all spent around 8 hours fixing it and havnt had a problem since and didnt cost me a cent HOWEVER its the cheapest lousiest cd player in the world, wont play some cds and doesnt like hot days... ford charge hundreds for replacements do yourself a favour and go out and buy a dvd player and screen combo double din unit which can utilise the 11 factory speakers... sounds sweeet as and for only a couple hundred more than replacing the factory!

i should also mention that its a ИИИИИ to get them out without the right tools, do NOT attempt a butter knife or reefing it out - it will damage the plastic surround and look ИИИИ aftermath. Focus on one side at a time, reach underneath and feel around for the back of the unit with one hand, use the other for one of the tools and push it out, just work it back and forth and it will come loose pop out a bit, then do the other side, but be sure not to take the tool out of the side you just got free or it will click back in again. any problems, PM me im glad to help
Good luck mate.

Thanks for all the helpful info, anyways its all fixed now, i got the guys at autobarn to slide it out for me and he said its the hardest one he ever had the thing didnt wanna budge even with the proper tools he had but still didnt charge me, i then pulled it out and opened up the top of it and found that one cd out of the 6 had stacked on top of another and jammed it up so it came out of its slides, i then fixed that and put vasoline on all the gears and moving parts cause whoever makes these FMS audio i think are tight and run them dry (maybe why they bind up) and then i put it all back together and plugged it in and then found 2 globes on butt 1,2,3,4 so changed them courtesy of a old EF unit and soldered them in. so now it seems to be fine but let yas know how long it goes for, And for wanted 120 to remove it and quote it, Thanks for all the help

I can only think of 7 speakers in the premium setup including sub. Where are the rest that makeup the 11 speakers that are advertised?

Front has 4 1-way speakers (4 speakers)
Rear has 2 3-way speakers (6 speakers) Rear has 1 sub (1 speaker) Total = 11 speakers Have a look at this: http://www.fordforums.com.au/photos/...cat=665&page=1
