Default Mk2 restoration attempt

Hi Guyz,

I'm new to the forum but not that new to the amazing world of the escort! Was a rally navigator a few years back and my early navigation was in a mk1 - amazing stuff sideways always! Anyway many years later, I've gotten a 1978 mk2 (is this a mk2) which I would like to slowly attempt a restoration to a road car. It has a 2L Pinto engine. It came from someone who was not interested with it anymore and a mate and I took it off him. I may decide to drop in a roll cage and do some hill climbs or historic rallies but all that depends on finance....and the Mrs . Had a look at it yesterday and was wondering if I anyone could point me in the right direction to get the following parts:
- Exhaust down pipe (piece that joins the manifold to the rest of the exhaust)
- Brake pipes -from the master cylinder
- Rear seat
- Drivers side mirror

I've attached a few photos of the car and I'm pretty sure I will need more parts as the restoration continues. I also have a set of Webers and an inlet manifold which I'm not sure of as they did not come with the car. Looking forward to your comments, advice, ideas etc.

Cheers!

Steve.

where abouts are you located?

that way it might be easier for people to help you source the parts you need

They are Solex, not Webers. Not worth moving from the spot you have them stored now.
Ebay is your friend with all the parts. Take your time and you'll get them

At a glance they looked like 40 mm doce side draught webbers until you posted and I actually looked at the pic.
Lesson learned

Gday Steve. We spoke the other day regarding the exhaust.
Its waiting here in Narre Warren.
I will have the grinder out tomorrow (sorry, later today) so I will cut the front section off for you. Wont try and undo the rust bolts as they always snap.
