Unfortunately. I've had to forfeit buying it. Too far to travel to look it over well beforehand. It has had an older resto so needs another body wise. Up for sale again on EBay & hope someone appreciates it as I did. Would really love to grab her but don't have the space to do bodywork/paint...*sigh*

Whilst this Capri appears in very good condition, it is overpriced considering that it is being sold as a 'restoration' vehicle that also needs a paint job. Too many owners try to recover all their costs/expenses which just isn't the way to arrive at a selling price!

Old cars are money pits, like boats.
You can only hope to enjoy the intangible value of the dollars you sink into something.
And at sale time, just hope you get something back for the blood, sweat, tears, hours of faffing around fixing things and $$ you have already spent. More than zero is a bonus.

Think of the difference between your expenditure and the sale price as the cost of time you might spend with your therapist.

It's only worth what someone else pays for it.

Was BW65 3spd slush box, now genuine Triumph 4spd + Laycock de Normanville J Type Overdrive on 3rd and 4th. Still running matching numbers and balanced OHC 3lt alloy head V8. Awesome fun and sound.
Pity the Dellow Supra box conversion is not available any more (I did ask them - lost in the mists of time).
......Another fine british car that lets its visits be known by the trail of oil leaks !!

Capri content - 2yrs ago I did a gearbox conversion on my Mk1 Capri from Ford Type F side-loader 4spd to Ford Type 5 4spd (internal HD single rail ex-Granada V6 and Capri Mk2/3) and what a difference. 2nd gear is a little higher but the gear change is now a 'snick' of the fingers rather than waving the wand like Harry Potter. This is a direct fit with minor (few 'thou) polishing off the box input shaft nose for the throw out bearing carrier. Reuse the Mk1 Clutch, flywheel and throw out bearing, tailshaft. You will need to swap the speedo gearbox drive gear. Mine still has the Granada speedo gear and reads 10km/h high at true 80km/h - pinch the speedo gear from the old Type F box. ...the next minor job on the car.

Ive just done the auto to manual swap in my capri.
Used the type 5 as the type F is like stirring porriage. (I had RS2000s for years so just cant tolerate the standard V6 shifter)
Not far off completing the conversion but waiting to get engine bay painted prior to refitting engine....I wish I had the skills and time to do it myself because panel beaters/spray painters are so slow.
