you start at the battery and if you have not got a coloured wiring diagrame use colouring in pencils to follow the wire to the clock etc
if the fuses and relays are ok etc
the earth symbol is sort of like an antenna
I think you may just have an earth problem so first thing to do is check all of them
then the relays make up a continuity light out of a trailer bulb and wire or other such device at hand

are we talking demister i think the wiring contacts may have a dry solder
joint
you can get a new demister fitted by an auto electrician

the clock you said worked fine in the other car no power can you follow the wire back to the relay i think you will find the relay needs replacing as it is a non repairable part

with that relay not working it stops the current to most of the right hand side components of the wiring diagamme

i was thinking of going to the wreckers and get a car that has all engine fuses and the inside fuses and relays and just replace the whole lot and see what happens i geuss

finding an electrical fault is the most frustrating thing about cars
all you can do is focus on finding the power wire and the earth then check each device in turn

cig lighter is in that loop as well

you could buy a loom but you will need to check that it is all ok as well

luckily your car is still drivable :

not a common problem found in a ghia about the same as an indicator flasher or fuse blowing under normal use

check that fusable link at 45 as well

you are looking for the relay with theses colour wires
black white stripe and a black yellow stripe one side
2 black blue stripe the other side

Hi. Did you check the fuses under the bonnet as well as the ones inside? Clock and cig lighter share a fuse with the interior light and a fault in any one of these will stop each of the others. Same fuse also provides power to the radio/cass memory wire on some telstars and if the radio has been changed the fault may be behind the radio, Check the color of the memory feed wire and if there is a spare wire there which is the same color try connecting it to the memory wire ( this gets left off when people cut the plug off, from new there were 2 wires crimped into the same terminal). Cheers MD
