The W427 will be the most collectible HSV to collectors in years to come (including the current GTS). Simply because of the limited numbers and how different it is to the rest of the range (NA 7ltr dry sump etc etc).
I think the GT R Spec will be the most collectible FPV for the same reasons.

People spending this sort of coin ain't making mistakes about what they are paying for in relation to a W427. Certainly not 90% as people spending this sort of money are into cars to start with. W427's as already mentioned are unique in the fact they are a small HSV production run, not an aftermarket fancy pants wannabe. In any case, as is usual with cars the prices drop before collectors force them up again and the W427's can now be had for 100k these days. It's a no brainer as far as I'm concerned. I'd go for a new HSV GTS or a collectable HSV W427 before I'd consider spending compatible money on a aftermarket Walkinshaw tuned car. The same goes for the FPV GT. If they can afford it, the genuine article is always the preferred option to car enthusiasts. Everything else will always rate less. . |
