Thumbs up Slot cars night

Just a bit of feed back from our night out at the Slot Cars at Penrith.
4 families attended and a couple of members on their own. The place is a well run and presented place.
So all the big kids let the little kids go first and to our surprise were doing really well, so an hour we had to wait for our turn(big kids)which was worth the wait. Most of the guys bought a car on the night to race with but you could also hire one of the cars from the Slot Car Centre.
As we got ourselves set up to race it became quite clear that this was going to be a challenge to see who was going to be number one(or stay on the track ) at the end of our turn.
The kids became our pit crews as we seam come off a lot at turn one at the end of the main straight, which was good for them as got to help in our efforts to WIN.

After two or more hours of racing between the big kids and little ones it was agreed that everyone was a winner.
Was one of the best social nights ive had with the club. I think this some thing for whole family to do as some of the MOMS on the night had a turn as well.

We could even look at doing a joint club event with maybe one of the other local ford car clubs or seeing if the dark side would like to do a joint event of FORD vs HOLDEN.

Looking forward to the next one(soon I hope)

Cheers
Mudzy

Not that I am part of the club but this is so much fun. I have over 100m or HO scale (matchbox size) AFX track with the ability to run 8 cars at a time with electronic timing and control tower to count laps etc.

Been wanting an excuse to use it so if you guys are interested I could travel down if there is a venue that could be used.

How much floor space is required to set this track up?
Perhaps we could setup at one of our club meetings (first Fri of month)

10m x 10m should do it. A small hall is ideal if that gives you some idea of size.
