About what you'd expect - subtle improvements, evolutionary stuff.

Jury still out on the dash for me. VE had a great simple design, but VF looks dare I say it, a bit Korean?

Haha idiots...I figured they wouldn't have it up for long.
I managed to read it!

As GT-spec15 said- evolutionary changes. Manual SV6 ute was tested. Things of note:

- noticeable improvement in cabin noise from start up
- official fuel economy down from 9.8L/100km to 9.0
- hill assist a bit slow on the brake release when letting the clutch out
- shocking A-pillars remain
- suspension tweaks seem to add up to more than the sum of their parts to give a decent improvement.
- improved shift feel on the manual
- some trim and the blinker/wiper stalks feel cheap and plasticy, esp compared to the rest of the cabin

Pretty handy drop in fuel consumption for the 3.6 sidi engine.

Did they improve the efficiency, or just change the accuracy of the odometer?

Aero was mentioned but weight would also contribute. Also read something in the previous media releases about HSV changing tyres- perhaps Holden themselves did too. This could make a big difference.

As much as many hate Holden here I sincerely hope they do okay with VF... I am a Ford many thru and thru but we have had Holdens over the years, my grand father had a heap of them and they are a part of our history. Once our Territory is 4 years old Ill be looking at the updated Falcon and Commodore as a replacement, simply because I want an Iconic car which I will keep long term and my Mrs doesn't care what she drives!

Good luck Holden!

I agree with DASH, now with Ford Australia's definite closure, and the inevitable death of the Falcon around the corner, (even though I am a Ford lover through and through) I hope the VF does good for Holden.
A Commodore will most likely be the last vehicle we ever produce in Australia, and if it is the last, I hope it's not for years to come.
The day the Commodore dies will be just as dramatic as the death of the Falcon, and just as much as the Falcon, will be the ending of an era of an Australian legacy.

it looks like 15"ss ... but so do base model Falcons ... it's due to the masssive tyre wall.

Really doesn't look like a Commodore from the rear anymore .... looks Camry/Mazda-ish

Need to see one up close to give a better judgement.

So they have brought the economy in-line with the FG I6 economy now .... about time. Especially for a smaller capacity engine.

When the VY was released everyone was saying the same thing - ugly, looks like a magna etc, but the new look was eventually accepted and it went on to become one of the best looking Commodores. Same thing will happen with the VF.

Yes Arnaldo. Same chassis with more refinement etc, just really a restyling - like the BA was to the AU. (Not including driveline/tech upgrades)

IMHO, If this is the case, good luck to holden.
From how the aussie new car sales have treated all large sedans & utes recently,
they will need a very good marketing campaign based on aussie made and hope the export markets support this type of vehicles over SUVs and small hatchbacks.
I would assume not many people would see a benefit to upgrade from a ve to a vf.
Dare I say that the VF commodore stands for Very Final commodore.

Haha, that reminds me when I took my car to get EPA tested (after getting a lovely letter, for the second time, in the mail saying my car was too loud)at Daalder exhausts in Dandenong, the old bloke there goes 'So is it a ba?' to which I replied 'No, a bf'
and he goes 'ahhhh, a Bloody Fine vehicle!' after ragging out on some ****** BMW driver who got tested before me. lolol.

The rear will grow on me, but I would have liked to have seen an 'evolution' of the VE styling, as the rear end was quite smart.
