Pffft....
I'm pretty sure people have already made up their minds regarding the falcon. Even the majority right here on this forum. |

Ecoboost saving Falcon?
I don't think so. People being negative about Falcon? Who can blame them with the daily barrage of bad news... IMO, it's better to live in blissful ignorance rather than suffer daily anguish.. Quote:
I pray that I'm wrong and hope that fleets and retail buyers turn to Ecoboost and buy that. Last edited by jpd80; 19-02-2012 at 08:26 AM. |

There is no silver bullet for the falcon, just hope that over the year sales will pick up again.

I hope I'm wrong, but the answer is no.
Forget the LPG version, the Ecoboost is the Falcon's biggest hope of adding extra sales in a segment that is shrinking more and more every year. Unfortunately, the biggest impediment to the Ecoboost selling well is the Falcon nameplate, which rightly or wrongly has become on the nose with the public at large.

I voted yes and I hope that it comes true. If I hadn't bought my car last year, I definitely would've tried an ecoboost.

I doubt it, look how great the lpg falcon is more power and about half the running costs of a regular falcon but it doesnt seem to be making an impact.

Probably because with LPG prices at 80c/L at the moment the savings are diminishing at a furious rate. |

it should do as its a world class engine in a world class sedan. But the powers and there little minions have there own ideas......i feel sorry for ford aus......they have the best cars in every class and they still bring amazing engines like this to the table and yet they will still get all the negative attention possible....shame on ford haters

Loaded question with no alternative.
The Falcon is still a top 10 seller! Territory going very well which took some falcon sales, which is what it had to do otherwise the Kluger and Captiva would take it all. The Falcon is assured until 2017 I believe. The EcoLPi is gold! My next car will be a G series EcoLPi to stuff it up the krauts, hehe ....OR an XR6T to, well, rule the road.... :P |

If Camry outsells Aurion I don't see why EcoBoost can't improve Falcon sales. Every manufacturer is looking at smaller capacity motors to meet emissions laws (not to mention fleets looking at downsizing), so for once Ford is bringing a product to the market at the right time. This is a killer engine that should work well in the Falcon, the question is can Ford sell it?

I think it's a case of too little too late. Ford stuffed it up with AU, fixed it a bit with the BA and then took too long to bring out the FG. FG should have been released in 2006/7 and we shoos be now looking at a completely new model.
They're just marking time, winding up the grant money before its euthanaside with a polite but emphatic, "Well we did all we can to keep it but the market has changed and the exchange rate was the final nail in its coffin..."

I certainly hope so
the latest Falcon is the best they have made but then so is the Holden and with the GM advertising and Ford not so much it wont sell like it should maybe if they flog it enough the government might buy it as fleet sales because of the EB four as they like 4 cyl cars compaired to a Camry its miles ahead so heres hoping My first Falcon was an XK and weve had every model at least once since 1970 I sorry I couldnt buy a new one just didnt have the money but ive kept the flame alive with used Falcons latest in the stable is a BA Ghia and a Territoty Ghia not counting the midlife crisis car a Mustang convertible thanks John |

[QUOTE] Despite what you may think Falcon still has a V8, an FPV is still a Falcon no matter what. As for the EB4, it all depends on wether Ford will be bothered advertising it, they will probably do what they did with LPi and not spend a cent on advertising to the public, so hardly anyone will know about it. |

Why do they not advertise Falcon-apart from XR6 on a price illuminated ad.
It is quite bizarre. They advertise the 4 cylinder cars and Territory but Falcon advertising is mute to say the least. Remember those SIDI ads GM ran for Commodore? Surely ECO LPI and Ecoboost need something along those lines? Surely Ford should do something? Hello! Anyone from FOMOCO reading? |

Ah, the men of small mind (and otherthings, feeling the need to compensate)... But yeah, 4 cylinders are only for small cars, like Toyota Tacoma, Ford ranger etc...never used by teams like BMW to achive Victory in F1. NO market in australia for a large car with a fuel efficant engine either. Ford should have the boss engine standard across the range, and a v10 in the FPV's.
