Another falcon issue is the geometry, the roll centre is far below the centre of mass. It works better on smaller cars. The fusion/mondeo has control blade right? The next mustang will have ecoboost and must weigh less. Nothing attributed to any 'ford insider' on the web is inconsistent with the 2014 Mustang riding on the Fusion/Mondeo platform as an AWD variant.

Ford have confirmed that the RWd Mustang is continuing, Mulally has said that himself, be told.

Maybe because Mustang is still selling at over 5,000 units a month...

And maybe because Ford hasn't received the cheque for the Australian government yet...

Because the Mustang has already been designed and mules are already running round, project has full funding and approval. They have probably already cobbled together prototypes of it.

Falcon is nowhere near that stage yet. Falcon is at round 1, Mustang would be up around 6 or 7 if you think of car development as 10 rounds.
