Hi all just got a 03/04 BA XR8 ute do they still have the plastic tentioners or did they have the later metal one's ?

Plastic from factory, you may be lucky and they might have been changed

steel bodied tensioners were fitted in mk 2 and onward, had mine changed when billet gear oil pump was fitted

Plastic, just listen to it when cold on start for a rattle to tell if they are on the way out..

Plastic, ive got a 6/04 BA XR8 ute that had them and got them replaced with the BF steel ratchet type

Hi again, a friend has a july 05 XR8 he said its noisey in the morning.
I would think its the plastic tentioners? does any one know what month and year they change? Thanks |
