Default Focus Xr5 Bov??

Hi all,

Looking for a BOV that can be added to the focus XR5. Also a good place to buy them from.

I read about these recently at the XR5 turbo forums.

Apparently the XR5 has an internal BOV and adding an external BOV causes all sorts of system faults / error codes.

Yep also a waste of time IMO. A decent intake will get you all kinds of great intake noises.

Whenever I hear a sneeze from a blow off valve, I look behind the wheel of the car and there lies a complete tool.

The Focus has far too much class for that nonsense

im sure its probably something that will become obsolete after i hear it a few times. had a few turbos, never tried a loud annoying blow off valve. Seems like it can cause too many issues anyway.

I ran one on my previous XR5T for over 12 months and had a few ESP System Faults which I used to just clear with my tuning handunit.

Mine was on the car when I bought it but came from Graham Goode Racing in the UK. It sounded quite subtle, not the normal ricer style noise, more like the video clip below.

For the last 6 months I had no issues thanks to an updated engine map. I wont be fitting one to my new car as I'd like to keep this one legal(ish) and will instead go for a Forge internal DV when the time comes.

For more dump noise a DSi intake will do the trick with less risk of errors.

Here is a bov fitting guide (note, in LV's you may need to remove the drivers side driveshaft to access the factory valve): http://www.grahamgoode.com/dv.pdf

Here are some pics of my bov on my old car:

Video of what mine sounded like (not my car though, I had less compressor surge)

Yeah, traded in my 07 LS XR5 on a brand new white XR5 a couple of months ago.
