Post Cars in Russia. Must see.

I know that there is a special thread for ebay/youtube/other internet sites but I think this website needs to be made aware to all.

Im addicted to it and its all about day to day russian life. Its mainly pictures with a little writing underneath each picture.

Anyway ill get to the point. CARS. They must be car mad over there! as I cannot believe what they do to their vehicles! Some pictures make me laugh others make me extremely mad!

You must have a look at the web site and scroll through the pages and check out the funny car pictures, Barn finds, Crashes, Mods, New cars etc.

Been to Russia twice... not surprised in the least.

Caught a few of the local buses, oldish 70's things with 2 wires connected to an overhead cable system. The 3 inch power wire would run across the roof, over the side, through an open window then down the inside to the floor.

Then there are the 'private taxi's' I befriended a local lad of around 20. He had an old 80's Corolla. Every night he would hang around a Kebab joint on the corner close to the final bus stop. He charged me 50 roubles for the 4km trip home (wouldn't dare walk it alone after dark) and had this makeshift magnetic 'Taxi' light on the back seat. When he was hired he would just pop it on the roof and run the wire through the front window to the ciggy lighter.

I was gonna say the same thing. I laughed at the part where a jaywalker was hit by a car and he got up and continued running across.

Exactly. And most only realise this after seeing stuff like this or travelling there themselves and really learning how 80% of our global brothers and sisters live.

Interesting pics, but not worth risking virus / browser hijack for...
Gotta just LOVE Eastern Bloc websites.
