Default How many kms is too many??

Hey Chris and Theo,

My GT-P has got 132,000kms on her and I am thinking of getting a CAI, Flash tuner and Custom edit from you guys in the new year. : Do you think that with the amount of kms on her it might be asking for trouble?? She is not a daily driver, she was to previous owner hence the kms, and I don't ring her neck every time I drive her. Mechanically she is in top condition so I don't think that it would be an issue, but I would like your opinion. If you think that there may be issues, I would still go with a CAI but probably not the edit.

Thanks in advance,
Greg.

Im not speaking on behalf of BPR, but from what i have read on here, assuming the rev limit isn't bumped up to something stupid and you don't start thrashing it all of a sudden i can see no reason why it couldn't/shouldn't be done.

BPR CAI & Custom tune will = One Big Smiley.

Not speaking for BPR either but it'll be fine. If it isnt doing anything sus and your not thrashing it to often if ever, there SHOULD be no problem. Totally agree with the bum-o-meter comments.
Cheers
Glenn

i have all ready done the CIA (BPR) and headers cats and exhaust just waiting on the tune to turn up : :

i am sure her car will be fine just like your will be

her's has only done 4 runs down the 1/4 and i will try it again once i get the tune in it just to see the difference

when was stock it dynoed this year at 222rwkw and its a 2003 auto 4 spd if we (Chris and BPR) can get it to 270 to 280 rwkw i will be over the moon

We are seeing more and more cars with higher Km on them now days.

Yes some cars have there problems and the cars are tuned within the cars capailbities. There is no need to push the car that hard just to make a few extra KW.

CAI is not going to effect the life of the engine but if you were to come in saying you want to drag race the car and put every bolt on mod on your car when she would be wearing a little quicker.

We have got one customer with almost 300,000km on his GTP and the car has had every mod since day one on the car and is driven the hardest out of all our customers and that engine still lives.

Feel free to give me a call if you have any more questions
