ok... had a very bad day last thursday.. i wrote off my beautiful Mk1 Mondeo Wagon :(
Just have a question.. cause its only a ruined chassis and front right side, im thinking of buying a new mondy and just putting my motor in it cause its fine and dandy. So, is there a real difference in the Mk1 and Mk2 motors? Newer version Zetec or something? By the way, im not very car-oriented so yeah. all i know is that all my coolant has leaked out, engine still starts and runs but smoke comes out (pinched pipes?) and the front right control arm is broken. Anything else that people are willing to suggest? Thanks everyone. |

Sorry to read about your mk1 mate it lookd nice from the small sig pic
As long as the car had a silvertop zetec in it then it would be fine so anything up to around 97 you can throw your motor into it. If you end up bining the car then I would be interested in your wheels.

yeah, im not sure if i would get rid of the wheels yet, might keep them for the next one but ill write myself a note that your interested in them so that when i do get them off, i can decide what to do.
So im also guessing that Silvertop refers to the rocker covers? |

wow that was really straight such a shame, and yes refering to the rocker covers they brought in the black top motors in late 97 which is the same motor as the lr focus but if you do a whole swap i.e engine trans and wiring you can put it in a later mondeo up to 2000
