Does the rear power socket in the LR focus remain powered after you have turned the car off? As i have had the situation whereby the GPS was in the car, and i left it plugged in, and the car just about didnt start? looong cranking time, maybe 8 seconds? I did notice that the unit was fully charged upon returning to the car, which left me suspicious...
Any thoughts appreciated... |

Can't speak for the Focus but my XR5 Mondeo does keep the power sockets live for 30 minutes.
I personally find it a pain - I run my GPS and Radar Dectector (yes they are legal in WA) off it. Been meaning to wire in a socket into the glovebox which switches off immediately - just havent gotten around to it. |

I don't think it does. I charge my mobile phone from there, but am pretty sure it only charges when the car is running.
Perhaps put the cigarette lighter into it when the car is off, and see if it heats up?

Strangest thing is when i dont have the GPS or anything plugged in, it starts first turn straight away, no additional cranking time, even when i hadnt driven it for 13 days...! Hmmm, go figure, and i think i have thrown out the Cigarette lighter... have NFI where it is!
If there was a 30 minute delay, that surely couldnt be enough to drain the battery though? Maybe a fridge or some device similar, but not a GPS... ? |
