You have to download the latest version of Nokia "Map Loader" too. I had heaps of dramas, you must be with in satellite range when getting it going for the 1st time. If in doubt call Nokia help on 1300 366733.......i called them 6 times yesterday.lol

Dont use the net connection, you get charged for the connection...well Vodafone do anyway 90c a time.
Dont forget the slide has to be open for the GPS to work, and be outside as the aerial is under the keypad. Use Nokias PC suite to download maps, but like I said above, the "Nokia N95 forums is a goldmine of info" (especially about the massive amount of fakes on the market.) There's also a thread here where we prattle on about 95's http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthr...ighlight=nokia

My main concern is trying to find a way to get the navigation to work without getting the stupid Internet connection error message. I'll go have a look at the N95 forum. ( Edit......phone is on the VF network ) |

Ok try this...........
Menu/tools/settings/general/positioning/positioning methods. In there you'll find... Bluetooth. Assisted GPS. Integrated GPS Network based. I only have the Assisted and Integrated ticked and it works fine, even where VF have no coverage. Using Network based means that it connects with the satellites a little quicker...but you pay VF for the privilege :

Er...yeah...right!
I dont know if the 8gb has the accel app built in, my poor old basic n95 doesn't. Either way the accel app is very small. I was going to say dont forget to download to the phone mem not the card memory, but you dont have that worry. (but I can put a 16g card in mine : )
