Default Mondeo GPS System on Ebay

Hi Guys

Have any of you seen this before? Or even better, actually installed it?
Ebay link

I wonder how it goes with:
a) Factory Bluetooth
b) Factory Steering Wheel Controls

I quite like the idea of having a review camera. Would make reversing that much easier.

Never saw this before, but it is very interesting.

Seems that postage is a bit high, and the "installs in seconds" might mean hundreds and thousands of seconds...

Nice find. Wonder if Ford will ever offer this unit as a part locally.

This guy had some for sale for the focus XR5.

A few guys bought it, apparently it worked fine with no problems.

It takes about 20mins to pull apart the dash and remove stereo (I've done it), it would be an easy install if it does come with plug and play like the ad says.

Biggest issue I can see is its quality, so sound quality, build quality etc may be sacrificed.

for just gps I would still go the tom tom, but if you want dvd etc it could be a nice upgrade.

I'd personally wait for a wrecked genuine one on uk ebay, especially if your car has factory bluetooth.

Looks pretty awesome. Definitely worth considering of others have done it, and cheap too.

Based on experience with previous Ford stereo swaps, I can swap a stereo out and into an LR Focus using a coathangar within 60 seconds.

No coat hanger zetec.

They are all torx screws now. VERY easy to take apart.

The writing on the screen in pics are chinese! Beware the poor quality?

Just get a double din head unit rather than risking it with one of these units. I understand that the adaptors and steering wheel controls, and the promise of 'direct fitment' are a bonus for any potential buyers, but the fact that nobody knows for sure as to the quality of them, and it's a lot of money to be unsure about.
Nowadays you can buy adaptors for the head units separately anyway (I actually have one lying around), and you can buy fascias that blend in perfectly with the car anyway. Plus, a unit from Alpine or Pioneer, or even JVC, are more reliable, have a proven quality, and can be sourced locally. Much less of a risk, and they have more features.

Double Din will not fit unless you hack the dash facia.

Our stereo front is a bubble shape, with the actual unit being retangular.

Can't you just buy a fascia for it? None of the newer ford models have direct fit din/double din head units, but you just buy a fascia for them...
But I'm not sure about the Mondeo. There might not be one available. Does anyone know?
