Good to see Mondeo doing ok.
Falcon, hmmm i guess that's the best they can hope for.
Fiesta needs a lift.

I am astounded at the amount of Corollas sold. Those fleet sales must have kicked in before the EOFY!!

Ford Falcon 3,320 (in may)

3,483 this month..not a decent increase considering this time FG was on for the full month....and there must have been exceptional deals on remaining BFmk2's to complete the financial year.

'Mazda6 807'

Mazda won't be liking that for a brand new model. I wonder why it isn't selling that well?

Another good result in a nervous declining local market.. next months sales will give a clearer picture about FG..

Ford Sold 5987 Aussie Built units in Oz
Holden Sold 5858 Aussie Built units in Oz
Toyota Sold 4813 Aussie Built units in Oz.

It's scary how much Holden's sales have dropped this time last month. As for exports with the way the doller is going its not where they will be making their money.

You do the Math.

They are doing about 370 cars per day in B/M's.

That's about 7,000 cars per month.

1,250 Territories,
1,250 Utes

That leaves 4,500 for Sedan and BFIII Wagon.

If they don't get the above that equals down days.

What supply problem?
Face it, the falcon will never or for the next few years sell as many cars as it did at the introduction of the BA and prior to AU.
Fuel costs are hurting people and the perception that bigger cars use more fuel will affect their purchasing.
Fleets are also moving away from Falcons and Commodores to smaller Corollas and even to Camry's.
There are now more cars out there to compete with the local stuff and a lot are better value. Ford need to sit up and realise the Falcon isn't what it used to be. They need to really get the Fiesta, Focus and Mondeo to sell more.

Yes.. you couldnt take delivery of the whole range in june (no turbo's or FPV's).. like i said, july but more likely Aug figures will show a clearer picture of FG.

370 would be full production with no stoppage.

Look at about 330-340 per day (less on days with group meetings).

The plant rarely gets a full days production out, also with the amount of operators ford has asked the maufacturing engineers to use it's tough for them as well.

well alot of people on the forum have been saying that they ordered turbo's but they're delivery dates have blown out so this would affect when the car is actually sold.

I can't see the turbo cars making up a substantial amount of cars.
I'd say about 600 give or take a few a month at max?

Don't forget that 3000 Territories to South Africa and a similar number of Falcons to NZ would have to be factored in somehow as well.

Got a chuckle out of the Epica. What were they thinking? It's a reheated Daewoo, it's slow, its UGLY and it's not even that cheap.

Toyota is moving forth like an unstoppable colossus:

1st Corolla
2nd Hilux
3rd Commodore

4th Falcon

If they were to combine Aurion and Camry sales (virtually same car different engine) they would be 1st 2nd and 3rd.........

How easily have Aussies embraced this brand? I know one thing - they will never see one cent of my money. Old General Tojo and Emperor Hirohito lost the war, but they sure are winning the economic war..................

It is interesting to observe that most brands in Australia are selling more then 12 months ago whereas in the USA most brands were down in June 2008 to June 2007. It shows the American economy is clearly in recession.

The FG sales are miserable when you take into consideration the FG XT is significantly superior to the VE Omega (which are the volume models).

Toyota Aurion continues to increase = 2,500! The Toyota jugernaut is winning in all segments.

Holden down 16% locally and they only sold 1,500 odd G8s in the US last month. The GM-Daewoo models aren't the saviour Holden was hoping for.

Well as someone who owns the previous generation I would list my reasons as:

-New Mazda 6 looks too much like a Toyota Aurion, which is not a complilment and is not as sporty looking as the first generation.
-No MPS Version.
-Luxury Sports 6 is missing center display that has been decontented by Mazda Australia.
-The car I have now is brilliant and I don't feel a need to rush out and upgrade.
-Series 2 will have more for the same or less money.

It could be as the supply of new FG Falcons at my local dealer is so many, that it is difficult to get around them to the sales office.
