How does that counts the E-seres out?? all the ORSM cars are late model especially the EL, BUT maybe steve just has to be an exception on that.

I'm in if I can match up time off with your trip. : :

I might have to bum a ride though. Trouble would be who do I trust knowing how you guys drive!!! :
That or borrow my mum VE calias (Don't ask still a sore point)

July Aug are cold and sometimes wet but still fun and accomodation would be easier to find, I can find some on the north west coast.
Maybe april/may might be better.

Barbie at Mum and Dad's if they havn't escaped winter by then. Also a mate in Hobart would would put up with the club for a meal even if he is a Scaife fan : he still likes cars

The club also might get a sausage sizzle out of the local Ford dealers for a photo op

All this stuff sounds fantastic, i think we need to work out some dates we are going and we can work towards that, costs numbers and what we can do to promote the club,

Just a question for anyone who's done these roads. My car's pretty low and I have trouble with a few driveways, would I have any problems on this trip or should I organise another car?

As long as you can get on the boat you will be alright! The roads are pretty good from memory.

Ok guys,

As you have elected me as your new cruise organiser, Firstly i would like to sa a big thanks, secondly Lets go cruising!!!!

Is there any idea's or things that people would like to put forward to help with a trip such as this?? eg;

If people know cheap accomodation?

If people can think of ways to rase money to help off set the cost of such a big trip?

Dates and time that we can work towards?

any input is great!!

Tristan, I aumexican, aka Dave GTORSM's dad should be able to assist. If you can get a contact number or email he said to me in past he would be more than willing to assist.

I think once we have dates we can plan an itinerary, speak to hotels at various towns and go from there, get numbers, book accommodation with deposits.

I still think we should cruise down west coast first through Burnie towards Strahan. This with a stop for lunch at Cradle Mountain would take at least a day and the driving is awesome. Then stay over night at Strahan. Day two go for a river cruise through Macquaire Harbour and down the Gordon/Franklin? River. The locals run the best boat with an all you can eat lunch. Later that day we could head through to Hobart, quick stop in Queenstown, this would take about 4 hours I think. Stay that night in Hobart, next day check out Hobart maybe or head down to Huonville, take a ride on the jetboats, there are some caves etc which are down that way too. Travel across to Port Arthur, you can stay there a night and do a day and perhaps night ghost tour. Then head up to Bicheno, see the penguins, maybe stop at Swansea, then across to Launceston and check out those parts for a couple of day and then back to Devonport perhaps. This would take about 6 or 7 days.

This sounds exactly what i had planned out roughly,

ok well lets here dates, what is going to suit people??

late 2008, august??

also should we go when the V8 round is down there??

Just to put my hand up I have 4-17 oct off at this stage. :

Not to put Pete and Marg out but Bathurst could be organised at Mum/Dad's as Dad always watches or maybe in Hobart as a mate has a home cinema complete with bar. :

When you have an approximate time frame let me know Jas and Marty have my email.

By the way moved into new house and have spare room now, ORSM members welcome to stay.

Some dates to either work around or with.

Tasmania school holidays 2008 ( at the time we are looking to go)
6th september - 21st september.

Victoria
20th september - 5th October.

Going from that if we go during our VIC school september holidays it would allow for school go r's to join us. I think 7 days is a given on lenth of time spent over in tassie, what if we said
WED 24th Septmeber 2008
to the
WED 1st october 2008

What are peoples thoughts??
