What size spanner do i need to get the viscous fan off a eb xr8, and do u turn it anti clockwise?

I know V8 clutch fans are forward thread, unlike the 6 cylinders which are reverse thread. I can't remember if that is clockwise or anticlockwise though sorry. You could probably try a big shifter or something.

i tried a 32mm but it was just a bit small.........u rekon a big adjustable spanner?

35mm if I remember correctly... Shifter spanner is usually too wide. Turn anti-clockwise, that is turn towards drivers side of car. Places like bursons and autobarn should sell the clutch fan tool for these cars, you get the big flat steel spanner and another big spanner thing that stops the pulley from turning, hugs 2 of the 4 bolts on the pulley. Easiest way.
