Default Kingsway Camera (Melb) going nuts!!!

Just heard on the radio; there is a speed/red light combo camera in Sth Melbourne on Kingsway going nuts pinging anyone going through the intersection. And the worst part is: it hasn't been fixed yet.

The thing is, the bastard stuffed up around 2:30am. The missus just SMSed me; she says she got flashed at the Kingsway/Albert Rd intersection. As she was going through, she saw the camera flash at least three times.

Camera Flash was left in test mode by technicians hence why it was flashing every time a car was going past. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOPPS

I went past it this morning at about 6.50am - about every 2 seconds when cars were passing through, even just as cars were tkaing off at the lights the thing flashed.

But apparently, we can trust them 100%!

Was just on the news, its not giving out fines but the flasher is going crazy. A bit embarrassing for the companies involved.

Yeah right... I smell "spin-doctoring" here BIG TIME?...
You mean to tell me this thing has been going bananas half the night & all day because of being left in TEST mode?? CRAP!
After our previous fiasco with the Western Ring rd. cameras, methinks that the LAST thing Bracks wants is ANY doubt cast on the validity of his pokie-cams!...
The slightest hint of inaccuracies, or mal-function would be a financial disaster for them!...

wont it just mean that everyone that went through that intersection between certain times that the camera stuffed up, will be let off from any fines or anything

Typical :P

I watched a red light/speed camera flash twice today, while I was waiting at the red light at the intersection of Sydney RD and Barry RD, (Corner of ford plant)
The amusing thing was, that there were no cars in the intersection at the time, or even a considerable amount of time before it flashed...

I trust them 100%... NOT! :P

That is soooo common it ain't funny. The one I pass most often (Bell St/Plenty Rd intersection) has repair crews out twice a week, without fail.

It's the neighborhood. Hammers and cameras don't mix.

Sorry for bringing this topic but I got done at this intersection never went through a red light. (I'd know if I've gone through a red light if it was 3.5secs according to the fine)

Grr :nutsycuck

Speed and redlight camera is in operation (for lack of a better word) at that intersection.
