Default Now a share scam

I can't believe the things some people will do these days to make a quick dollar. I got home tonight to find a letter from a company called the 'Direct Share Purchasing Company'. I hold shares in BHP which are valued at $26.12 when this letter was printed, they are offering to buy them from me for $18 WOW What a bargain! Thats only a 44% loss compared to market value. They ask for your SRN first which gives them access to your holdings, then state you will get a cheque in 3 days. Considering the market is T+3 they will also have the nice little 44% profit in 3 days as well. What they are doing isn't illegal but im sure they will trick people.

It's bad but what makes it the worst? Well the letter you return the form in isn't reply paid, you have to put your own stamp on it!!

I just can't believe some of the things people are doing now days to make money its just pathetic

I think the guy that is behind it is a slug called David Tweedy. As auslandau stated, it is not illegal, however, it is very immoral. Tweedy is one of the most hated people (I cant call him a man) in the country. ASIC have tried to shut him down in the past and failed. Companies try to refuse to issue him with a list of shareholders and he takes them to court and wins. The downside for this idiot is that he is detested so much, that he can hardly set foot outside his own little prison (bars on the windows, security cameras on his place in Melbourne) because he is scared that someone will take a pop at him. He is a scum-sucking bottom-dwelling parasite that causes nothing but misery by preying on vulnerable people. It would be nice to see him catch a truly nasty disease, but I guess he knows where his own hand has been...

BHP sent out a warning about it as well which I assume would of cost them a lot of money to do as well. I am going to return the mail but only with a big F&** You letter inside it. I surpose if you really wanted to annoy him you would photo copy it like 100000 times and post it 100000 times and put all different SRN's on there. It would keep them busy for weeks.
