Default thumbs up for JMM 3000 convertor

many thanks to JMM for the 3000 series stall convertor.
finally got to test it out on saturday at wsid with great results.
the only mods since last meet was the fitment of 28inch x 9inch slicks up from 26inch x 8inch and the JMM convertor.
60fts dropped by .3 second witha best of 1.609 (11.43 @ 117mph).

i was amazed it launched so hard even with the taller tyres.
stall speed of 2900rpm was the norn.

thanks Jim and Brendon for your help.

highly recomend this convertor to anyone with the btr box.

Does this stallie bite consistently? Or does it bite hard sometimes and not on others?

Congrats on the 11.4!!! Thats an excellent time!

This converter sounds the goods for performance orientated autos. I want to see a comparo between dev 5 auto and manual cars now. Going from the reviews Im guessing with traction these will drop 60' times from about 2.3 on average to below the 2 second mark which makes a huge difference!

I wish I had the EB still, I would love to give one a go.

I've got the JMM 3000 unit and while it is not technically a power-adder, it feels like it's given me twice the effect of when I had the Unichip put in. Takes off so much harder, the VCT sounds a lot nicer under rev and even when cruising in 4 and you add some throttle, it's like it was sitting in 3 the whole time (seems like 2 sometimes!) before it then downshifts (you can feel it with the shift kit).

The fuel economy is also a lot better than I expected - you just have to re-learn how to drive it.

I am thinking about the EDIT and/or the JMM3000 stally. Money $$$$
I have a VCT XR6 and therefore the same rear suspension.
What was the improvement in your 60ft time with stally?
Thanks!

awsome car man... good to hear that its getting quicker and quicker..
next mod is a 11lt fuel tank to go where air box would be on a std car.
ive knocked up a mild steel one , making an alloy one in couple weeks time.
buying 600hp inline fuel pump tomorrow.

how long till 10s??? paying of my house and getting into the 10s at the same time is bloody hard.
within the next 12 months i hope to be running 10s.
atleast all the mods ive done have worked and done them myself which always saves $$$.

thanks

so say this stally with a 3.7 diff, wouldnt traction be a nightmare??

What would be a good diff ratio to run with this stally with a turbo app.. What ratio are you running Eb 6? And also, what are you revving it out to?

Thanks.

NA I6, run a 3.73 or a 3.9 (3.9 if you are REALLY after optimal 1/4 times, 3.73 for alround performance). Turbo I6, 3.45 is fine otherwise it will come on boost and you will just sit and smoke. Thats my opinion anyhow.

If your asking about the stall, go to http://www.jimmockmotorsport.com/ and click on the "Whats New" section, all the stall info is still in there.

This just gets better all the time.

1.59 Now I'm just plain jealous. I know what a 1.65 feels like and I know what you are going thru. But a 1.59 is just awesome.

Imagine how it would launch if you played a bit more with the suspension n stuff.

Holy cow man, let it rip some more. Well done and good luck in the future.

Glad to see you are happy with the converter.

now obviously by looking at your car and your times you know alot more about it all then me and have acieved alot more then me, lol.

but i was thinking maybe a 3.45 or even 3.7 lsd diff and maybe slightly lower stiffer suspension would drop a bit of time off your 1/4mile wouldnt it ?

diff is locked via a mini spool and yes i will be changing diff ratios this year.
currenty the car crosses the line in 3rd, so maybe 3.7 will be the go.
im also fitting the std rear shocks back in to see if times drop for ford v holden drags on australia day.

Dont use stock rears...Eeeeekkkk Diff bounce.

Put in a set of EL gli upper control arms and point the pinion angle down.... leave the shocks. Also take out the front sway bar....Two simple things that will help..

hey brenden the front swaybar was ditch long time ago, when i was driving it on the street it was already out. lol

tyres dont need a burn out so im sticking the old shocks back in for one meet.

so top el arms bolt straight in??? of to wreckers this week.......

bolted in an alloy tailshaft yeterday
