Default Let's send the boys down to Morley to sort him out!

Have you read Unique Cars?

In particular, Morley's column ...

David Morley is one of the best motoring journos. He tells it like it is. He drove a few Tickford test mules in his time.
A fair write up on the 5.6 Tickfords here. https://www.drive.com.au/used-car-re...20100824-13l26

Disagree strongly, he is a muppet and contributed to the demise of car manufacturing in Australia.

These comments on the AU are laughable too the T series was built as a raw drive, the T3’s were never meant to be “refined” that’s why they are such a better car to drive than the B series FPV’s because they are real drivers cars.

Contributed to the demise of car manufacturing? Nope.
As for the rest whatever.

David Morley built a 5.6 as part of a MOTOR story, the car that received the engine went on to be a long term test car for the magazine.

Yep, if you read every article he’s written about the T3 every single one contradicts what he’s said in the other. Whatever sells i guess

Mr Morley needs to learn how to drive a bit more economically. In my T3 TL50 from Newcastle to Lismore heading up to our Nationals meet mid 2018, with 3 up and the boot fully loaded I used around 10L/100klms. I never saw anywhere near 20L/100 in my auto TS50 even around town as a daily driver, more like 16 if you were giving it a bit

My p will do 10 on the high way. 25 around town. Could go less if I drove it softer but it’s a 5.6l manual Ute that sounds amazing. Small price to pay

How would you know Fordomatic?

Isn't your car fitted with the 185kW V8?

I've got no care about Morley scribes on the T3 but like you GC I've recorded some nice high figure fuel use in my early days having my T3.
I used to LOL when I saw early 20's usage thinking what fun he drinks like a huge fish but damn it was fun !
