Default Why are threads closed?

I bring this up in regards to the nutter in Melbourne thread.

Are the mods to scared to let people have an honest debate about certain issues?

I have firm view of this nutter in Melbourne, but if I was to share this view on this forum I would probably be banned for life.

Are we not adults, can we not just say what we think without the powers to be closing down a thread.

Too many SJWs who want to squeal about how offended they are with the minutiae of your language rather than get on with the big picture...

Maybe the mods are not adults and can not handle a good debate(sounds very much like the greens).

Why close the thread, I think plenty of people on this forum would have some valid points to add.

It is easy to see why that thread was closed given the many pathetic but sadly predictable posts contained therein.

It seems that the nutters in society aren't just confined to Melbourne - more and more seem to find it necessary to post on this forum.

but what if your spade is just a shovel ?
sometimes it can be a fine line for the mods with some threads and what the forum might have to put up with in legalities too . but I didn't see the closed thread so I don't know

No - but it is possible to do it and maintain an ounce of class and decorum.

Do even know the true meaning of bigot?

A good example is how the greens refused to listen to Pauline Hanson's speech.

Now that is a bigot, refusing to listen to someone else's point of view.

That is dead right - and plenty of the ilk posting in the locked thread.

Just because someone has an opinion, doesn't make them a bigot, it's a difference of opinion that's all, unless of course you're calling for beheadings/hangings or something

Bigot:The English noun bigot is a term used to describe a prejudiced or closed-minded person, especially one who is intolerant or hostile towards different social groups (e.g. racial or religious groups), and especially one whose own beliefs are perceived as unreasonable or excessively narrow-minded, superstitious, or hypocritical.
