There will be a new Mustang with more than the Hellcat's 707 HP! The article says 750, but they are just speculating. The credible part is "CNN has mentioned that a Ford rep has told them that the next ‘SVT Mustang’ will have ‘more HP than the Hellcat’."

Ford vs Chrysler, Mustang vs Challenger....win-win.
I'd imagine (and hope) the Mustang will be the better car on the road and track (circuit) too.

Gone are the days when a factory 300Kw's was crazy power.
It's a shame Falcon and Commodore won't be around for this power war over the next decade, but will be cool to see how it plays out with the Americans regardless

Nice
I wonder though, with the ECUs these days, is the full 750hp available anytime on full throttle or restricted to higher gears etc

these are pretty well sorted cars, yes they can boogey in them , but granny could drive them and never know their potential, i would feel much safer in any of these big power modern muscle cars than some of the unsafe low powered dung boxes on the road.

Thats as good a reason as any.
'Ford why did you produce a car that would monster the Hellcat?' 'Because we can that why'

Whatever Rodge, Ford has been "talking the talk and walking the walk" for the past 3 years with the GT500, nothing has been anywhere close to the 662 hp till now.
I'm sure Ford won't take this lying down and in fact anyone that has seen the recent vids of "The Ring" will know that. Your a real turncoat now aren't ya Rodge, your anti Ford sentiment is quite boring |

Grab a hellcat rodge....I mean there's no way ford could/can/will build a mustang better then a hellcat.. REALLY.
From what we've seen so far of the new stang......they'd be silly not to apply themselves to this far superior chassis then what they been working with on the recent fast stangs. |

The standard mustang I believe will perform as well as or if not better than what we already have available in Australian produced cars, so I would not say the performance will be adequate for most. I mean a mid 4 0-100 and 12 sec quater times are pretty good base to start with.

The end of the Falcodores is sad but for mine an exciting future.
If Ford can match the Hellcat great. If it can't then who cares, we should be seeing much cooler cars on our shores due to the demise of the sedans. For mine I love the look of the Hellcat, so be interesting to see what Ford (and GM) bring in competition. |

You whine like a mule about all things Ford and refer to that as a robust discussion, give me a break. Hope you give due credit when Ford spank this Hellcat into submission, it might not be in power figures but I'm damn sure Ford's answer will be quicker round any given race track and on the street. |
