Hi guys,
Just wondering if there is a way to do a revs check for a vehicle made in 1974? When I enter the VIN number on the qld department of transport site it says it is unable to process as the number is less than 18 digits long. I know that in 1981 (or around then) the system changed so does this affect me? Cheers, Nathan |

Probably best to go into a actual DoT branch or ring them up if the online system isnt working for you.

Yeah first i went to the department of transport, then they gave me the online link as they dont do it in person. Then once that wasnt working I rang them and they told me I had to find another number other than the VIN? is there another number than the Vin on a 74 XB???

I've done QLD revs checks on older cars before... is the VIN you're using something like JG27ST12345K?

It was only really in the late 80's that vehicles got a modern day style VIN and it was actually recorded. When I checked out my old cars best I could do was use the rego number,

Ford used to use SIDO numbers that were recycled after a few years or so,
maybe that's why the system doesn't like the older numbers. |
