Happened yesterday in Kings Cross, Sydney... don't know the story, but that's one pretty beaten up cab.

edit: To be honest, this doesn't surprise me considering how frighteningly poorly some Sydney cabbies drive.

Well, at least it makes the last Fairlane built just that little bit more exclusive.

I wonder how the hell he did this...

If it was the driver alone...how? You're in the city...you don't speed. There isn't the space, and the volume of traffic is too high. You take it easy.

Astonishing!

That probably came from the signpost he knocked over (check under his rear tyre)

Too many cabbies floor it and jump on the brakes, instead of lightly accelerating (or just rolling forward). Seems he forgot to jump on the brakes.
I nearly shat myself in a cab from Ashfield to Five Dock a few weeks back, this cab driver created a new lane and a new record speed considering the moderate-heavy traffic.

The side damage came from a phone booth behind the tree, hit that then into the pole..... work just down the road from there, closed Bayswater Rd in that direction for a while. No idea how he did it, or what we was doing but he was a taxi driver so enough said.

As for wardens, some would try give you one if your stopped at traffic lights some days in the cross if they could. Its a pain moving the car all day......

The side damages looks to me like the firies might have popped the door with something, probably to get the passenger out. (I used to do that road rescue stuff)

Fixed.

Honestly, outside of Sydney I've never had a cabbie who's been anything short of great.

We cannot use mobiles whilst driving - sending TXT is the WORST form of distraction. As a cab regualr, how i am still here is beyond me. That on baord taxi allocation system thingy would have to be one of the most distracting things in a cab. Some cabbies manage it well - others; well it is up there with SMS.

Just yesterday, a cabbie was repsonding to something..not looking ahead..at the last minute i had to yell at him as the traffic had stopped ahead..lucky no one was in next lane...i almost became theback passanger of the Corolla he would have inserted the Falcon into..
