last year i bought myself a new PC and a motorbike and a few other small things.

This year im looking at getting a 92-94 Hilux 4x4 Twincab.

so, what are you planning on using your tax return for?

I will probably more than likely be paying excess tax, as at the beginning of the financial year i had no HECS debt.. now i do.. and i didnt change it or do whatever i had to do :(

If i do get any money back, i will put it towards my wedding!

I think you'll find you won't have any accumulated debt yet. Anything for this semester shouldn't appear in your account until later in the year, so you'll pay it next year. You'll get a letter from the ATO giving you a current balance anyway.

Edit: Woops - realised you said 'financial year' not just the beginning of the year. So maybe disregard what I said.

Mines going towards a new mountain bike! Giving up the roadie and aggro for some nice dirt trails. Some sort of XC dually...haven't decided on one yet.

I'm not expecting anything back.

Currently paying off a $1.5k tax bill from a stuff up a couple of years ago - long story.

So yeah I'm pretty well expecting my accountant to tell me that any return this year is gonna go towards that instead of come to me. Crap happens :(
