I just saw a fleet of 9 + SS crewman file down Elisabeth Street Richmond.
The chequered one with polished rims (exact car as above) took off very quickly across the intersection. Unfortunately, the car was too far away to hear the engine note (but noted there was none at that distance). I was able to compare them with a VT sitting next to it and they're certainly nothing alike. I'll be interested to see the rear end styling more than the front at this stage.

Oh, to give you an idea of distance, I was standing outside of Hungry Jacks in the photo (it's on Hoddle Street). Silent it was from there.

Commy finally gets single shut doors...

I still think that mule is on the Falcon 17" 7 spoke wheels. Look identical to the BA SR wheels.

even the red exec shown in motor a few months ago had them.

I thought the wheels looked similar to the AH Astra CD alloys :p

Wrong. They moved the front wheels forward to create more cabin room without making the car longer.

Saw four of them today on Lonsdale street in Melbourne, looked very 380. One of them had the vents uncovered, thought it looks better on the VZ.

I want to see the interior. I like it. Only concern so far for me is the wheel arch flares and the small looking boot access.

It does look very close to all the spy photos we have seen so far. Very convincing effort!

The more I see it the more I think its really not a huge step up over the VZ in terms of styling.

Not saying its bad...just not very different.Time will tell I guess.

Ahh no if you have been reading about it they dont need extra cabin space they might have the largest interior in it's class. It's a handling thing is why the tyres are moved forward.
The car is longer and wider, But cabin space is on par with VZ.

don't think that chop's headlight work is accurate. To me the VE headlights are still very similar in share to current shape.

Time will tell.

It is very 380 from the rear - stubby boot tacked onto the back.

Do I see a good hint of an AU roof line and BA rear window? The rear door quater lite looks lifted straight from AU/BA.

If anything the roofline looks reminiscent of VT to me. Remember, the VT shape was introduced over a year earlier than the AU, so it could be said that the AU's roofline and rear quarter window shape was copied from the VT.
Also remember that the AU initially had an oval shaped rear windscreen which was squared off on the BA, while the Commodore had a squared off rear windscreen shape all along.

You obviously haven't read about it if you have come to that conclusion. A longer wheelbase allows the cabin to be stretched without increasing the cars length. Legroom will be bigger than VZ. Why do you think the boot is so stubby.

It will be a big seller. That chop looks great and even though its an SS, I reckon that it finally has the front on looks that match the BA/BF.

While I like the look of the vehicle posted by BlueKoop, and really I do, I couldn't help but straightaway think of an uncanny likeness to another car. Japanese, and much smaller. Too bad Ford own Mazda though!

VE Commodore?

Its younger Brother Perhaps??

It aint a bad thing though, I like Sp 20's... My mate has one, and I do like the look of the above (albeait guessed) VE. I thought that they'd go for sharp edged VZ type headlights, it will be refreshing if they don't.

Anyways, Whaddya think?
