I don't know how they get around whatever regulations are in place. Mine was registered the day before they advertised it as a demo but I received all the new car stuff inc a letter from the CEO and a bunch of freebies (family portrait appointment, theatre tickets, leather, embossed, document pouch, logo'd key ring, plus other stuff I can't rem). I'm not complaining as it was discounted thousands from new price but it has to be a rort.

A demo is then technically a used car. |

The price cuts on astra have been insane, and they did it from very early after it's release, cause it tanked so badly. Pretty much everything they have released lately has tanked. They are in serious trouble. Nothing has done well. The increase in ZB "sales" in most likely a huge amount of dealer registered demo's with Holden desperate to avoid the negative press of such low numbers the previous months. Trying to keep it out of the news. |

Why would dealers take on additional stock knowing it will be difficult to sell?

Because it's the same company that paid >$500Mn US to sponsor ManU via Chevy, then completely pulled out of Europe. lol that one is my favourite but there are others... Made the electric car by 2001 then crushed them all...

May figures should be out shortly. It topped the NZ passenger sales in March with 310 sold and YTD (April) it had sold 718 to be 9th in the passenger segment overall. Cheers Russ

Bit cool in Rotovegas today?
I live on the Gold Coast and saw my second zb on the road yesterday a plain white job heading out of Surfers Paradise. Would have been a rental. Heaps of Mustangs here. More Mustangs than FGX,s. |

Funny thing is in Australia Toyota actually sold 20 000 of 86 model since 2012 . There would be a few of Subaru BRZ variant to add to that too. Not a bad effort for a very niche little sports car. |

I drove around expensive suburb in Melbourne and have never seen more AMGs around - pretty much everywhere. So it does depend where you drive and it is too random to try and draw any conclusions out of it. We have VFACTS to compare sales numbers :-) |

I'm yet to see a new commodore on the road but to be honest, I don't think I'd recognise one if I did. Holden's current bunch of offerings are all very generic looking designs, nothing to really get excited about in their range. Ford were clever with the Ranger, getting it well established here and the Mustang for the Falcon fan, also a smart move with 4&8cyl option. In the 80's, any performance oriented 4cyl I can remember, was more expensive than a Mustang EcoBoost or the brilliant Focus RS is today. It seems with a smaller model range, car co's will really need to know their customer well to ensure success of any new model in the future. Maybe one advantage of Ford's global plan is the cars might have more research & design in them hopefully resulting in less issues. Whatever is next for us here, I'd be surprised if a large four door sedan was in the works.

Or maybe those who say they want a performance sedan are still not buying it because it's the wrong brand..
If that Stinger was redone with Ford nose and tail and sold as Capri XR6 Turbo they'd probably move five times as many... |

I have seen three stingers in town, I havent "seen" any ZB's probably because they are so bland they blend in with the alsorans..........
