I was only thinking something similar to this the other day.
I was more interested in entry level than hero model though. Straight off the floor bog stock, what looks the best from both camps from all era's. For me, BF2 XT and VZ Exec. Hero models For me, XW/XB GT and VK SS/VL Calais 5.0/3.0T |

Best looking falcon to me was the car that actually outsold its commodore rival, the EF.
Best commodore hmmm, maybe the group A VL . |

Seems a few "worst" have been made so i'll give my 2 cents;
Ford : AU (Xr versions slightly better, but still woefu!l) Holden : VN (just really, really bad!) |

tough question.
Dunno why but i always look twice at a nicely kept VZ Calais, its got that nice understated look with the wide spoke alloys.

Love XY to XB, sedan or hardtop. Too many colour combinations to pick a winner.
Black and white XU1 or an A9X, want. Have always liked the Aesthetics of a BA, everything in proportion. Worst Commodore, that ugly VS GTRS...if there was ever an antidote for Viagra on wheels, that car is it.

To many good looking fords to choose from, for me, top would be XYGT, XRGT, later series muscle models onward all looked good .......... G6 models probably best prestige model for me , and very underated imo.
Only a few holdens I like, funnily enough all Monaro's hg/ hx/vz , other than that never really been a commy fan, but the latest model I much prefer to the ve . |

XB Coupe all the way for me Falcon wise.
Commodore wise...... probably the VK but definitely nothing in the nineties, VN/VP all look too busy, VR/VS was too bland especially that interior.. YUCK! VT onwards never did it for me. Rich

Speaking of "worst", I saw another Falcon GT R Spec today - I like the GT look (wish I could afford one!), but this model looks so tacky IMHO.
Awful red alloys are the main issue, and red panel on rear looks awful - fix those two, wouldn't cost much, and it would look so much better. |

I actually think Monaros look fantastic on the road, Holden did a great job there, and I really like the VE SS Sportswagons in a nice colour/wheel combo.... |

Best Commodore (s): VL and VZ. Not biased at all.
Best Falcon (s): XR and FG. Worst Commodore (s): VN and VP. Worst Falcon (s): XF and EA. |

Wow totally amazed by the VN VP hate. I wonder why that is, very popular cars on the other side of the fence, probably the most popular models. The VN group A will be for all time the most collectable and most expensive Commodore you can be 100% on that one.
Maybe that era just shows up the Ford Holden rivalry the most and hence the anti VN sentiment. I had a VN once, I wish I still had it, sure it had quite a bit of body flex and was pretty hard to drive straight in the rain and nearly chucked you off the highway every time you went to avoid a kangaroo. But I could say the same about almost every commodore and falcon Ive ever driven, still the VN was a sexual looking car imho!. I own a VH now as as club car and its "pretty" I guess but doesn't have the flowing geometric type lines of the VN. If you suffer from OCD and need all your lines to make sense the VN looks good lol. If you are talking best lines of any car from any make in Australia of all time, HQ Sedan... For sure! The thing is built like a curvy woman and everything on it is perfect, flawless design on the HQ. XR/XY isn't too far behind in a non curvy way. |

Well the VS and EL aren't the original model of their shape or much different at all so I'd say everyone referring to EA and VN refers to them too. VS can carry off white paint better than any other Commodore though, I'll give it that.
The speed alert device in the VS's was very cool. The last word in ever having to take your eyes off the road. |
