I've found the brakes to be up to the task of some fairly spirited driving, a bit touchy all around but I'm yet to wish they were better. They certainly don't get worked as hard as the Brembos on the old Phoon...
That being said, I'll no doubt change over to a slotted rotor and different pads before long, but that will be more for aesthetics than outright performance.

Q ford in qld has a set of those wheels sitting in their parts department. They have been there for a while so no doubt they would be keen to move em.

I can only notice the howl at very low revs. But I haven't taken it for a good strap yet. I'd have to say the only noticeable difference in noise is the plum back going from ....tss.. to TSSS! I mainly drive with my windows down just to hear it

I reckon the next upgrade will be the Mountune front mount intercooler... Give it a couple months though.

Is it a specific WZ ST filter, or does it fit the whole WS-WZ/WZ range? After looking on eBay I found a filter to suit 2013 Fiestas under the part number: K&N 33-2955 Air Filter I'd love some more TSSS! ANd I've always had good results in general with K&N filters. Yeah that's the right part number. This is the one I bought. Had it in my hands within two days of buying I think.

I can't tell too much of a difference to be honest. Pickup seems a bit....smoother. I for sure don't notice a decrease in acceleration times though. Not without a tune at least that can leverage the increased airflow.
I don't hear the TSSSS sound mentioned above. My exhaust seems to drown out all noises to be honest haha. |

I bought mine off eBay from the UK. It was $55.65 free postage. Yeah it is a WZ ST specific filter.
Yet to do the exhaust. I have found any yet that I like the sound of. If i do end up doing it it'll probably be the Scorpion cat back |

I notice the tssss even with the exhaust. Given that these things run at 21 PSI I find it vents on every gear change. Can't say the K & N increases the induction roar much, but it is early days yet...

Yeah I c nt believe these little cars run at 21psi! That's massive! I had a turbo civic with 300fwhp and it was only running 10psi.

A smaller turbo will need more boost to produce the same airflow. I imagine the focus and fiesta turbos will both be tiny to stamp out lag.

Which is why there is little extra gain that can be had out of these cars safely unfortunately. I do know, in speaking to many people, that the MP215 package from Mountune is pretty much the upper limit of what can be had with just an ECU remap and intake. The turbo size and psi are already being pushed. The next step from here really to get any decent gains is going a bigger turbo (or removing weight like mad), and there is no way in heck I would do that on a car like this.
I, myself, and looking at a decent set of lighter wheels and a Lithiumax battery (15kg weight saving I believe) to add performance. |

Mp215 and reducing unsprung weight are going to be the best bet along with having realistic expectations.

All I'll be doing is exhaust, mp215, new front mount and tune (new wheels and springs aswell)... Until my warranty wears off and I start look at other options

I picked up an induction kit from AS.. Probably silly spending money when the stock airbox is fine but I like more induction noise.. Hopefully I don't lose too much power..

Is the Mountune short shifter kit an easy install? What's required for the installation?

Reasonably easy, it is tricky though. Not much room to play around in there - lots of hoses that need to be held out of the way. As usual a third hand would have been, well, handy... ;)
A couple of screwdrivers to remove the airbox, small sockets for the intake pipe. 2 allen keys for the actual Mountune part, and a 24mm spanner for the removal tool - this was the only thing my basic tool kit didn't have, I used a socket instead. Biggest issue was the lack of room to tighten the mounting screws - I found I had to move the shifter back and forth to get the allen key movement required. And a small mirror would have helped to locate the main bolt as it is underneath the shifter for the install. Well worth the effort though - much nicer shifting...

Anybody know if there is chrome grills available to replace the black ones in front and rear bumpers?
Also been lookin for wind deflectors for driver & passenger windows, a dash mat would be good too as I find the dash is quite glarey on the windscreen on the really sunny days. |
