I have heard places like Dubai and that have no tax the oil pays for everything. This from someone who worked there. Also if that list is true (which I am skeptical about) where are they all kept, and even when you have more money that most countries, why would you have 9 of the same vehicle?

i know he used to race some pretty exotic cars in the desert, quite a few of his machines were done up into desert racers including a 4x4 rolls royce, well known for buying a car for each of his friends and wives in the 80's and 90's

I dare say that that list includes cars that may be government vehicles or registered to his company/however he has set it up etc. There's no way he would buy over a dozen Corollas just to have in a collection. A lot of the Mercs etc are probably used to cart his diplomats/staff etc round in.

MIT SIGMA BL3178 F17A0000009,
WHAT.......... He has a SIGMA ??? I agree with above, I would not be suprised if that list contains staff cars etc as well. Probably find many of them are daily driven "company cars" I heard sometime ago, apparently he had a White SV5000. The only one evermade, was specially done for him. Fact, Fiction, Who knows. Good luck to him I say, I can only dream to have that much $$$ and be able to buy a fraction of the cars he has to sit around, Including a Sigma |

I think that you will find that the first list would be a good 10 or so years old, there aren't any cars from this decade.
I also would suspect that whilst he owns them, a lot of them might be used by staff, like buses and the forklift. As for worrying about other people rising to defeat him in a coup, I doubt that this will be much of a concern, as he does look after his people very well, as well as no tax, the locals enjoy free medical for life and a raft of other advantages, but you can only live there if you are a practising Muslim. I must say good on him really, at least he is using his money on things he enjoys, rather than saving it his whole life and dying unhappy. No I probably will never get anyhting like any of the exotics he has, but that is hardly his fault.

Hello mr Tyrepower.........can I bring my cars in for a wheel alignment and tyre rotation..............sheeeeeesh............what an embarrasing load of hedonistic excess...........He probably has a full time person in charge of finding the keys for the car he feels like taking for a drive............ : |

2950 cars and bikes on that list, if he drove 1 day it would take over 8 years to drive or ride them all.

In an earlier post someone questioned having multiples of the same model ... he used to have a standing order with Rolls Royce (and other manufactureres) to take delivery of every colour of every new model as it came on line. |

Actually a few (23 it seems) Aussie's have died keeping him and his family in power. See for example http://www.vrb.gov.au/dvapublication...rneo-64-67.pdf and [url] and http://users.qld.chariot.net.au/~dia...frontation.htm and http://www.worldsocialism.org/articl...change_for.php and http://www.australiansatwar.gov.au/s...?war=MI&id=227

I dont understand why he has 13 Commodores/Calais/Berlinas and not 1 Falcon?
It's not that stupid having that many cars if you have money, plus alot of them are unique so if he sold them he would probably get more back. |

apparently education is also free, if you believe what the magazines say the sultan inherited 40 billion from his father of which there is 10 billion left, having all those cars is probably a means of creating employment, it must be a huge staff to look after them and make sure they are serviced ,cleaned and secure etc.

It's a nice list of cars. If I had as much coin as he does I'd probably collect a few uniques myself. I'd atleast have a ford in there before I got a holden.
I heard education is free as well. |

He might be a very benevolent dictator but at the end of the day there are no elections in his country so despite the free medical, no taxes and free education he can't claim his people are free. And as we have seen in other parts of the world it's easy to be benevolent when there's lots of foreign oil money but if this were to dry up what would happen then?
