Hey guys,
My EA has bilstein suspension and Ive been told that the shocks and struts are rebuildable. Wanting to keep the car close to factory spec I would rather do this than replace them as they are leaking. Does anyone know any places that rebuild suspension components? I live in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. I did a google and yellowpages search and the only suspension places I can find are Pedders and 4wd specialists. Am I able to trust Pedders not to rip me off if I tell them exactly what I want? Cheers, Dan

I got a quote from Bilstein in Sydney.
$276 a pair to rebuild them. $187 a pair to change the rate characteristics to a Targo setting for street/race track work. $66 postage each way. So that would be $618 to reco them all and $992 if I want the rate characteristics changed. Does that seem worth it to you guys? I havent really had much experience with different shock types. How much do regular shocks and struts go for to suit lowered springs?

When I got my Konis rebuilt, they guy was saying how expensive the Bilsteins would cost to get rebuilt. Damn! You can buy a set of new Koni Yellows for less than a grand on fordmods.com I think.

Top performance in vermont are the vic suppliers for Koni. But if you ask them nicely they might do your bilsteins. The have done my Koni's and they dyno the shocks when their finished. If you want a very good suspension guy in eastern suburbs speak to Euwine at Pedders Ferntree Gully. He's a top bloke and can source stuff that no one else bothers with regardless of what brand it is.

I also had my suspension done by "Euan" at Pedders in FTG. He was a really good bloke and did exactly what I wanted and thensome. I'm going to get some more stuff done there soon. It's a small world.
