Another legend gone.
Grew up with the old man cranking Merle's tunes in the car. I still listen to him now. I have a compilation disc with a live track where he does Impersonations, a big medley of him playing other peoples songs and doing a great job of mimicking their voice. He's always been a favourite of mine. He had a rough upbringing and spent a good amount of time locked up....did pretty well for himself in the end. Yep familiar with this clip too. The one I posted is the one I referred to being on my CD. I reckon his life story would make a good book, or maybe even a movie. |

I'm a big fan of Merle. I have a lot of his song, mostly from live gigs. Love some of his bluesy stuff.
I also love his impersonations https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SlhEdo9T-Oo Silver Wings is one of my favourites https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ROA21n2zxmQ |

My fav is "I think I'll stay here and drink". One of the non piano versions. But the strategy of the song's theme didn't I think work out for Merle............... or I.

RIP Merle,
Grew up watching "Movin On" which Merle sang the theme song from. Been enjoying the complete series someone kindly gave me on DVD.
