Default Where can I find shells?

Hey guys, I'm mainly interested in finding a project car, my mate is moving here next year and he wants to do up a project car from scratch, is there anywhere online, or say in Brisbane I could find myself a bunch of Shells to look at?

Knowing what sort of car it was would help a lot. But perhaps start at an auction and look at anything selling with no rego

Plenty of nice beaches out where you are. I'm sure if you look long and hard enough there will be a shell of the right design and size to suit your needs.

Gday Bloke, I live North coast 2. I change ebays search parameters to item nearest first and then search the whole car category for the first 4 or 5 pages with no search string. It brings up all vehicles and then you can sort them manually

love the hearse i sold a 289 zd hearse to a bloke in Melbourne back in 2007 originally came from Uralla NSW..... i wonder if he finished it??

The ad above is actually a good example of why I search the way I do..... the only reference to Ford in the search string is "LTD". How do sellers expect a buyer to find that without using V8 or Ford in the item title I will never know

Yeah well that's the problem, we don't have much of a passion to a certain car, but rather a passion to build one, besides that he wants a GT40, good luck building one of those...

Haha, if I can put an engine and wheels on it, then all is fine and dandy.

Unfortunately no, as I have no personal preference as of yet, I did see an LTD P5 not long ago, primed shell, I was quite interested in it, unfortunately it was already sold and it was on a Facebook sale page, all in all this is a first project so won't aim so high just yet, something small is what we are looking for to learn along to way.

Cheers for those, almost the only serious post on here

Will check through eBay a bit and see what I can find.

if you are early enough (still have the edit function available), then hit the edit button. at the very top, there is a box that has "delete this message". obviously then just highlight "delete message" and then "delete this message"

back on topic, why just a shell. a complete car will still be a project - it just has everything on it. no need to buy anything when you can just fix up what you already have . . . and that is a big enough job, trust me

Obvious thought is go to a wrecker and have a look around. They often have complete cars for sale dirt cheap. If you're after a new shell then pick up unique cars or just parts. There are usually some guys in there selling new bare shells with all hang on panels.

Yeah was looking at doing that also, a lot of the cars have fine engines but horrible bodies

Cheers... yeah well for my avatar pic I was tossing up between the new tank or this old one.......but I just gave this one a polish. When I get to 25 posts I will bang up some older bits and pieces in the for sale thread. The Mrs's ire means the crusher is imminent. The avatar sits next to a 37 shell it is still complete with leather "buggered" trim and rear air options (big console) FMX box and was iriginally a donor for the 37. The ZC is broken in half as well............... gotta love that NSW mid north coast "salty" Fresh ocean air
