I have a question that currently goes unanswered for me after a google search.
assuming its double demerit points in nsw right now (im actually not sure, cannot find that either!) but its mid dec. I am thinking it would be.. 1. are nsw currently in double demerit points now? 2. will it be double for me, or the lower demerit infringement 3. yes before anyone says it blah blah speeding kills so does fatigue infringement says 110/130 $216 fine, cop said 3 points, but what about double demerit scheme? thanks nate |

last year double demerits kicked in on Friday 24 December so on that basis it should commence this Friday the 23rd.

Wow you did 130, I thought at that speed on an open road your car would catch fire, children would run under the tyres and you would spontaneously combust.

Not sure if this will work for you being a mexican......
If you've got a clean record for 10 years, you can call the OSR and ask for it to be downgraded to a caution. This is a once only get out of jail card. FYI I got caught a few months ago 20k over whilst overtaking. I had it downgraded with one phone call and no points lost or $$$ spent.

11hrs of driving, 110kph is too slow imo.. i did 130kph all the way through nsw, i knew there was a chance of getting caught as i slowed for other lidar cop cars before hand, came around a corner, than bam! hes there, im on the ankers.. im sure he knew after hes gone i would resume the 130kph cruise control. he was a nice officer, just wished me a safe journey
i killed a lot of bugs i must say |

I'll have to be careful coming down to the in-laws this weekend then if double demerits are in place. Bloody national highway and you've gotta slow down to 40km/h at some points... tsk tsk tsk.

just got off the phone to vicroads
anyone who receives (example) you get fined 3 points in nsw, but the fine in victoria is 4 points, you will receive 4 points against your vic license Quote:
11hours to my destination in nsw, and 11hours back home at least 22hours of driving, yet never had an accident at that speed speeding kills? yeah, a couple of bugs :P edit: its no different to when im driving to queensland in the past |

I don't know about Vic but If you have a Qld license and get caught speeding in Nsw you have to pay the fine but the points won't come off your license, this has been proven to me on at least 6 different occasions

the speed limit sucks for everyone. That doesn't give you any special rights over the next person. and yes i've done plenty of long haul trips.

Some of those fixed cameras on the paciffic highway are just for show. Passed one year ago at 20 over while passing a truck and never got a ticket.
