Default EcoLPI Engine Bay Video - MotorShow

Hey guys,

Short video that I took of the engine bay. Not really much to spot out. Never noticed how much free space there is there next to the heat shield.

I felt that the Ford area was generally quite crowded over all but I was there around 11 or 11.30AM roughly. I don't think it was at peak capacity in general yet, but it seems there was some interest there.

Didn't put any orders in Probably going to wait it out for the FG II or FH , etc.

Sounds like Allan Moffet's voice in the background.
They have made it look larger than it really would be.

It is.

The LPG engine looks the same (to the untrained BF owner's eye) as the FG petrol engines. I know what I'll be replacing my BF with in eighteen or so months. Probably in XR6 Spec - it will be something special, unlike the current XR6es are.

Battery box looks interesting.
Along with the intake mufflers as well.
I presume what you zoomed in at the back of the engine bay was the ABS module though .... was hoping for something related to the LPI.

It's not a battery. It is an inverter, which allows the car to be powered from mains power, not the battery, which wouldn't last a day during a Motor Show.

As I have said previously, unless you look REALLY carefully, you'd be hard-pressed to notice any difference under the bonnet between an EcoLPI engine and a standard petrol I6. The tell-tale signs that the engine is an EcoLPI is the large green LPG liquid injectors on the intake side of the engine which replaces the standard petrol fuel rail.

One more comment about something that is shown in that video; the registration plate is 'FALCON'.
This is on a G6E. Does anyone remember when the FG was first introduced that the 'G Series' cars were deliberately not associated with the Falcon name in any way.
I wonder if our marketing orientated president has spoken.

Seeing as Territory has gone this route ... I'd say it is more than entirely possible.

IMO, G Series totally understates the significance of the car...

Titanium Falcon is a far more appropriate title for the top of the line vehicle,
they also need a great mid series title to complement the rest of the range,
not sure what that would be...Trend, Zetec,..., SEL... it's not easy

There's more going on under the inlet manifold, where the regulator/solenoid and lines are.

Yup, just a little pressure regulator with the coupling block, as per aftermarket Orbital kits.

We've built saleable units, and I think there might be one more build before full production starts.

This week is a shutdown though so nothing will happen till after we come back on the 12th.

Mmmm. Damn fine engine.... damn fine.

It's what gives Falcon it's character, and uniqueness. How many production I6's are there these days? 3?

Nothing like this whopper though.

Thanks for the vid.

Hi Boss,

Just wondering, if you have built units ready for sale already, then what do you mean about maybe having another production build? What would happen to the already made LPI falcons if another build would be made (assuming the new build is made because it is a bit better in some aspect?)

The units already built will be tested, then on sold to the public, they are saleable units. They aren't built to fill orders from the public.

Full production units will go to fill customer orders, they aren't any different really. They are already full production spec.
