Western Australia police confirmed a person had died on the property but said the victim's name would not be released until next of kin were notified.

In July a drunk man broke into the park and jumped onto the back of a 5m crocodile named Fatso.

RIP.

He was a great inspiration to me, and my family. The times I met him up in Broome were pretty memorable, and regardless of what various people have to say about him, he was a great man.

What a shame! I used to love watching his documentaries on a Sunday afternoon when i was a kid. He really got me into learning about nature and it's creatures. He will be sorely missed. Atleast he leaves behind a treasure trove of learning and information.

RIP.

That is unbelievably sad news. Like so many others, I grew up watching this original croc hunter.

What the heck is going on with Aussie Icons - Peter Brock, Steve Irwin?

I'm pretty upset about this. I grew up watching Malcolm Douglas on the small screen in his budget documentaries. Gave me a yearning to travel and consider the environment instead of treat it like a commodity.

RIP.

R.I.P. Malcolm. I was always a huge fan...he was the original, the real deal. I remember watching him on TV many a time as a young fella and his shows were still on air in recent years as repeats. Was such a straight up guy too....i learnt alot of interesting and helpful things watching his shows, always with his faithful dog. Condolences to his family and friends.

Was a shock this morning to me.
I heard about it from a work colleague, as Mal's brother works in the Industry I work in.
I know his brother/son (Taz Douglas V8SC) well, as we sponsored Taz, on his Formula Ford days.
Their family has been hit with a lot of bad luck. Wish it would stop.
Condolences.

Sad to hear, I grew up loving his documentaries. The news said he was killed when his car hit a tree on his property...but his Toyota Troopie hardly had a ding in it when they showed it on a flat top being taken away.

Malcolm Douglas made Witchetty Grubs look like tasty treats from the Milk Bar - great memories of watching his docos as a kid. Will be missed.
