really hoping for a Deutschland v Netherlands final. the rivalry would be awesome, considering Deutschland rolled through Netherlands in 72 hours in world war 2.
"see, the thing about Deutschland is, they just walk the ball in" They should beat Spain easily, Spain should not have won there last game, they played like crap. come on Deutschland!!!! |

What has events from 60 odd yrs ago got to do with possible opposing countrys in the cup final
Great fight by the Uraguians - 2 superb goals that the keepers had no chance with the Jubalani ball, amazing how it moves through the air ! So the Dutch are waiting for either the Spanyals or the Germans ? I don't expect the germans to be able to play as open as they did v's the argies but I could be proved wrong Going to be a hot match in the morn can't wait !

Hup Holland Hup!!
The one thing about most Aussies is that we have ancestry from another country so as soon as the Socceroos are gone we jump on our "Other Team". My mum was born in Holland so I am pulling on the Orange and cheering for the Dutch on Monday morn. C'mon the Clog Wogs!!!!!!!!

RG sorry if i offended you mate, was clearly saying it in light fun.
i never really got on the socceroos bandwagon either, soccer is just so small in our country. been following deutschland the whole time, i definitely didn't think there young side would do so well. Netherlands did well this morning they deserved the win, i think they could have attacked more but i think they would have been worried about conceding goals in doing so. they looked good, hopefully deutschland can get up tonight, will be a great final if that happens. |

The problem is to a degree it does. To many people have either been through that time or been drilled the whole thing from parents and grand parents. Then there are the ones that just know the history. People hold grudges to long there is to much hatred in the world

Saw on the news yesterday about the Octopus (I think it was in Germany) which had picked all Germany's wins. This time it picked Spain.

I don't agree with the notion "bandwagon". This is not local football. As an Australian, I supported my country. Nothing about jumping on any bandwagon. I don't watch, support or have an interest in football any other time f the year until the Aussies are out there playing. And regardless of your family roots, if you were born in this country, or you have children born in this country, the least you can do is support Australia. Is it too much to ask? Nothing wrong with supporting the country where your family hails from, but as an Australian, shouldn't you show just a little pride and support your country first?

Vamos Espaņa --- Just like in 08.....Why some thought that Spain was going to get walked on by Germany is beyond me!!!
They take their time and set the play; its beautiful to watch!!! (Can you tell i'm still pumped!?!???) Iniesta, Ramos, Alonso played magnificiently... And a beaut cross from Xavi to Puyol who finished with one of the best headers of the tournament! Of course you gotta give credit to Casillas !!! (IMHO the best in the business! - Yes i'm being biased as a Real supporter!)

Spewin! Hope we dont have to wait another 20 odd years for Holland to make finals, this was our best chance!
Well done to Spain, the Oranje were clearly outclassed today. Though I do have to say that the decision to give a goal kick after that free kick bounced off the wall was bullsh*t, not that it would have made much of a difference.

Well done Spain. They said this is Spains 13th attempt to win the cup. I guess 13 is a lucky number for Spain.
Discovered by neighbors behind us are from Spain. I think they had a home made vuvuzela. Didn't quite sound anything like it does on the TV. Annoying all the same. lol

Congrats to Spain, glad they won it. Always nice to see a first-time winner take it, especially given they've come very close before.
Another interesting result; New Zealand was the only undefeated team at the 2010 FIFA World Cup! Gotta love that! |
